IEW Structure & Style Unboxing || First Thoughts

How cool! I've hesitated buying IEW, but I think we might try the samples and see how it goes from there. I think my biggest hesitation is that we already do The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts, which can sometimes take us a while to get through and the thought of adding something else just seems like it would be too much. We love TGTB, however I just feel like when it comes to writing, it's lacking some substance.

I think many LA programs lack in the writing department. I would definitely recommend the sample before the purchase. It may not be the time for it right now :) but always good to keep a list of goodies 😉

We have almost completed Level 1A this year for 4th grade and we're never going back to anything else. There is no more grumbling about writing from my son and he LOVES Andrew Pudewa. We bought the DVDs so we could eventually sell the curriculum to someone else. Streaming rights don't transfer.

That's a great point for getting the DVD. I did think about it since I will only use it once but decided on the ease of streaming instead. It does seem like it's going to be an awesome program!

What have you used prior to this? What age is your daughter? What age does IEW recommend starting this level? Thanks!

Hi, level 1a is recommended for grade 3-5. We are half way thru our 4 th grade year starting this program. I have tried write by number, the writing revolution, Redwood literacy, writing and rhetoric and a number of TPT programs. Here is the IEW link if you'd like more info iew.com/SSS

Welcome! I'd definitely try the samples before you jump in with the cost! So thankful they have that option.
