Warp signature would be the same as gravitational lensing. A warp drive would compress incoming space and expand outgoing space. Warp 1 :1 would be faster than light but would be more like a gravitational wave. Warp 1:2 , 1:3, ... would be larger and larger gravitational lenses.

@minkowski4d A person allowing for the possibility of things beyond our understanding doesn't make them uneducated or stupid. I mean... they could be, but they could just have a more flexible and/or creative mind. There is a pattern where the most intelligent people at any given point in time think they have it figured out until something comes along that blows some aspect of their perspectives out of the water. It always sounds crazy and/or stupid to them, so they dismiss and hide behind the intellectual barriers that fuel their egos. It feels great regarding yourself as the correct one, but hidden truths hide behind egos. Personally, I think we are arrogant and overconfident in our understanding of reality. I think time will reveal that I'm correct in that assessment.

so he says finding the warp drive we need will be a physics probably and not an engineering problem. but what if we need to have space manufacturing or mining to have the means to solve that physics problem? so we have to engineer our way to outer space with what we have now, and then physics our way to warp drive once we're already in outer space.

1:50 I lose A LOT of respect for any scientist who complains about the "exotic matter" required for warp drive. It is extremely naive and pessimistic to believe we would never solve that problem. Its a total lack of imagination which to me equates to a total lack of intelligence. Just recently some Japanese scientists managed to discover/create negative energy in a lab in a real experiment! And there have been steady advancements to warp drive designs that keep lowering the total energy required. WE WILL SOLVE THE WARP DRIVE PROBLEM, GUARANTEED. Human ingenuity is just too good. 100 years ago they said we would never get to the moon. 100 years before that they said we would never fly. See the trend here?

We live in warped space, Earth warps space and gravity is space pushing us towards Earth, we are got going FTL. A warp drive would warp space in one direction and space would be pushing the vehicle but that wouldn't be FTL either. If you could warp space equal to mass of Earth then space would push us @ 1G acceleration, so a warp drive would be useful but wouldn't be FTL.

What happens to our physics of that isn’t the case or what happens if say the rules of physics is locked for us due to limitations of our perceptions of that single time line but others without or different limitations might have a different rule book to the same physics that we encounter?

If you woke up in a different body with the same memories, you would only be the same person for a very short time. That's because the fundamental nature of consciousness and our individual personalities are based on our original biology, from brain structures and physical differences in the brain. Just like if you woke up an AI for the first time, based on a persons memories, it would be like them for a very short period of time before all the differences add up and fundamentally change how that mind works, based on its new capabilities and experiences. So even if they could recreate all the same neural pathways, even the differences in certain parts of the brain matter, would cause things like emotional differences. Imagine for example, your centers involving processing emotions were different in size....you might have stronger or weaker emotions, which would completely color your entire personality. Or in other words, whoever you were to try to transport to another planet, would not really be that person for long, without their original biology down to every precise detail.

You're asking the wrong question. How can they break the sound barrier and go a hundred thousand miles an hour in our atmosphere with no drag and no Sonic boom. I think the answer is gravitational lensing. Gravity is pushing matter away from it before it's acted upon. So it's slipping. Why would a dinner plate travel faster on its face then on horizontally on its side. Because it needs to make a larger gravitational lensing effect. So the gravity drive mechanism makes a plate into what a spinning top looks like.. I don't think it's moving matter out of the way at all. Whatever is inside of the gravity well is like it's own planet curving spacetime rolling over the matter, not ghrough it. Gtg kids
