Come on, let’s get Jim over 30,000 . We need more videos like this. Remember people, “ get Jim over 30,000 “ it’s better than “ make America great again “!

Found this channel since I'm 50+ and pondering getting a bike - since I'm fairly used to handling a spanner (high precision machinist, worked at a garage, electronics as hobby...) I intend to do my own work but I'm not familiar with bike systems. But I'm waffling, back to topic... This channel has quickly become one of my favorites and one of very few where I hit "like" before watching.

I remember back in the day i had a cb900. I too revived the airbox and fitted stacks because they looked cool. No amount of fiddling with jets and needles would make it run as good as the airbox. I re fitted the airbox and all was good again

Love a CBX , i remember back in the early 80's going to Sports Motorcycles in Manchester , one lad had a CBX with a Laser 6 into 1 straight pipe , wow did it sound like an F1 engine, probably the best sounding bike ever! Those shocks look very much like the ones that snap!
@majoy-osterlundfreeman54256 ай бұрын
Those shocks looks like Ohlin shocks and the for sure don’t snap! 😉

Had the carbs off mine 7 times. Leave the lower rear bolt in the engine. Airbox bands loose. Slackening the drive chain slowly lays the engine fwd. Carbs straight out.

Out of all the people you'd think it shouldn't happen to, in the mid-80s I had to help my Honda Service Manager replace the #1 Con-Rod in his CBX engine after he forgot to turn his fuel petcock off when he parked it (where it leaned far enough to the left for the gas in the higher carbs to flood down into the #1 cylinder) = hydro locked and bent #1 rod when he tried to start it. I don't remember for sure but I think Honda might have designed and made the first vacuum operated petcock because of that issue...

Nice one. However there is another rebuild cbx in Spain i saw last year at the circuit of Valencia. Bike is from Aspar, complete rebuild with motogp parts. Big delta swingarm, Ohlins gp forks, beautiful handmade exhaust. A real beauty.

Should have been kept standard, sounds nice tho. Remember changing a crankshaft on one years ago, nightmare cross referencing to get all the correct bearings, plus getting matching weight rods. Worth it in the end.

Hey Jim . Be careful, these were a bugger for filling the sump with petrol. There was a mod to the fuel tap back in the day.
@KCadbyRacing6 ай бұрын
Yup, I just commented about helping my Honda Service Manager replace the #1 Con Rod in his CBX engine after it hydro locked (because he forgot to turn the fuel valve off) and the mod was replacing the original petcock with a vacuum operated valve...
@stevenrowley94816 ай бұрын
@KCadbyRacing you've got it! I did one one GL1000 Gold Wing for the same reason. Mind you, it made a change to doing CX500 cam chain tensioner mods, 100's of the things!!!

One year I followed a Moto Martin CBX 1000 down the Mulsanne straight , [ we were going a bit , I was riding my Z1300 ] , it looked and sounded wonderful , but , everytime He changed Gear , I could see the rear Wheel move side to side , Swingarm Bushes , perhaps ?

If you notice, #1 cylinder was the worst. The CBX engine (and rack of carbs) is so wide that they were notorious for flooding the #1 cylinder (when left on the side stand without turning the fuel valve off) = many CBXs ended up with fuel in the bottom end and worst case was, #1 Con Rod would get bent if/when it hydro locked (I know that because I helped my Honda service manager replace his #1 rod)...

Wow! What a bonus on a Friday. I've been around CBX's for many years and I've never seen this particular model. I'll have to check out my CBX book by Ian Foster to see if it's included in the long list of 'Specials' I definitely agree with you on the subject of engine noise and video equipment. I use a Gopro Hero 4 and my CBX sounds like a bag of shite when, in reality, it runs sweet. Shame you didn't have more time on this one. I'll share it with the CBX clubs that I'm in and hopefully you'll get a few new subscribers.
