Finally!, someone who knows how to change gear on a boxer. So many videos have people clunking up and down the gearbox and complaining how bad the box is when all you need to do, as you did, is on the way up the box, pre load the gear lever before dipping the clutch and the gears go in silently and on the way down rev match the engine and gearbox by holding the revs steady as you dip the clutch. Great work Sir!.

Even with the "missing" 4 hours of work, still enjoy the video. Don't mind all the waffling and random squirrels either, it's all great to watch and learn. Cheers!

Yes, I'm aware they are now 1300! The common stuff I see in for repair on a regular basis are mostly 1200.

I've brought a 2007 R1200ST, which was standing at the dealership for over a year and a half. In the end, the dealer had to replace the ABS modulator under warranty because the long standing somehow damaged it beyond repair. I used to do most work on my bikes myself, I like watching your clips because I learn quite a bit from it. Thanks for sharing.

Your comment about windscreen height or lack of it resonates with me. I’ve an r1150r Rockster. I’m 6’-0 and the wind buffeting my helmet makes an incredible noise! I love my 80th Anniversary bike. It’s a great ride in all other respects for me. I haven’t found any taller replacement for the original. I’m apt to remove it altogether and fight the wind head on as in earlier days. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Daniel

Top tip t&g remover & a makeup pad. Put tar & glue remover on make up pad. Put ontop of wheel weight glue leave for couple minutes. Rub it in. Wheel weight glue will come off with ease. Obviously wipe residue clear afterwards

Lol love it, suppository - thats all me arse whaaaahhhh, we KNOW you meant REPository not DEPository but wheres the fun in that Jim, I LOVE deliberately misconstruing words and do it all the time and yes I already KNOW what the real word is, but if I had a pound for every time some knowall tried to belittle me by assuming I didnt already know what I was saying and "correcting" me.......I would be writing this from the patio of my mansion in Bermuda ! lol

Its it ok to remove an abs system from a bike? I want to do it on my ktm 990 adventure many people have done it but dont know if it will upset the insurance if i had to clame 😬😬 Great video again 😎
@SuperbikeSurgeryTV10 ай бұрын
Certainly ok in terms of brake safety and performance. You would need to talk with your insurance company regarding that side of things. Technically, it would likely be considered a modification, so at the very least, you'll need to inform them.

@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV thanks for your reply.. 👍Definitely going to look at removing mine then it is a common mod on this bike it removes a few kg off the 990 its also pain off road turning abs on off etc.. Thank you Any chance you had do a video on cdi units and how they are powered when no battery ?and also how exciter coils work... been losing my mind trying to help a mate out with a no spark fault on an old klx 650🤯

@@carlhansen8668 Sorry, I don't have a video on the subject, although it'd make a good one. I do have very tentative plans to make a whole series of short videos covering all aspects of electrical systems. Just need to somehow find the time!

What’s the legality of removing the ABS over there. AUS here. If it was born with it it’s not allowed to be removed. It would have to go through a whole re-register process with clearance from the manufacturer which would never happen. I understand that the owner can remove it but would never be able to sell it or register it again?
@Animo925 ай бұрын
The fact that the abs delete pipes are available through BMW is bloody terrible really
@onefastmini3 ай бұрын
It's through an aftermarket parts supplier and not from BMW. It is however a common failure and expensive to repair if you can even get the parts. I'm on the fence about removing mine because it still works properly at the moment.
