Man...I can literally relate to all of these. White girls always wanting to touch my hair, asking me what kind of shampoo do I use, do I used cocoa butter, are my parents married, how come I don't act black, asking me if black men have big packages, do I burn, do I tan, can I tan, do I get darker in the summer, how can my hair be curly like that and how do I straighten it, what's a perm, I heard black girls are good in bed and the list goes on. In my 25 years this is what I've dealt with. Having white friends I've heard it all, one of my friends asked me if I could get the same disease as Michael Jackson because I'm black. And I've dated majority white guys and oh man I've been called ever cocoa ebony,caramel,cinnamon name in the book while they touch my skin...okay thats okay but I've been asked just...crazy stuff I've never asked a white person any things like this, this is beyond normal curiousity, it's madness...this is SPARTA!!!!! How are you gonna assume the people who don’t agree with this video do this? 😭 There’s no basis to that whatsoever. I personally think this video is very lopsided as this refers the old racist dudes not white people in general (very big differences). It has become a stereotype in and of itself that white peoples are racist. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s common, but it is not so common as to where it should be lumped together with being white that you’re more inclined to be racist. That’s just wrong.

I was thinking that at some point in my white life I might have said one of these things and I know I was very young. It's strange what kids will say and if you are like me and grew up out in the country you never had a chance to grow up with people from other races you might ask stupid questions! Maybe people need to grow up with people from all races so they aren't this stupid! I specifically remember asking a girl about her hair because I was curious! I don't wash my hair every day and I have had people say Ewww too! My hair gets too dry if I do. Many people are just ignorant when they are young. I also think some people might say some of these things while trying to make the other person feel more comfortable around them or trying to go out of their way to make sure you know that they like rap or curly hair, tan skin but they don't know how to just talk! People need to realize that it's not ok to touch someone's hair no matter how much you want to.

I’m from a country where African people are very welcome and loved ones. I hadn’t even known that some of the questions were sensitive before I went to the US for a summer. When I was there, I met with a black person and said her I liked her hair. I was so real. Because I wanted to make my hair braid. And she looked at me so weird. It was embarrassing for me. And then I couldn’t continue asking which hairdresser she was going? I normally tell my friends if I like their hairs or ask for hairdressers. But I learned it’s a touchy subject in the US. I think, because of the this shameful history, people are so sensitive. And it’s quite understandable.

Then they tell us our hair is like animal hair and get their hair styled like us as a fad. We have been kicked out of schools and denied jobs because of it. Everyone is being way too sensitive. The point of this video is to show that some of the things white people say to black people can be offensive so they are flipping sides to show you what it would be like if black people said the same things to white people. Ziggy Zaggy hahaha how the hell do you know it's made up? Are you black? I grew up one of the only black kids in every year in school and I can say first hand, those comments ARE NOT made up. Yes I have had white friends who never said any of these things, but honestly, the majority of my white friends have said these. I had heard almost every single one of these comments by the time I was in 8th grade. But again, it just depends on the person. Not everyone has a filter...
@RecliningWhale10 жыл бұрын
Ziggy Zaggy I have actually had tons of these kinds of comments directed at me, and I'm only part-black. The hair thing used to happen so often that I started enforcing a strict arms-length personal space rule. The music one also happens a fuck ton as I don't listen to half the shitty things that I'm supposed to listen to according to the stereotypes. If you think no one speaks this way, it is because you aren't the kind of person who they would speak to like this (read: white) or because you live in an area where there is a nice amount of racial diversity. The kinds of people who make these comments (regardless of their race) are usually those who were raised in a community composed primarily of their race.

To be honest, given the attitude of black Americans, young ones especially, everything you do is a problem if you’re white. You’re on the docket before you’ve said hello, and constantly being “educated” on what to say and what not to say, to minorities, anything a white person tries to identify with or relate to, is cultural appropriation. So with that said, asking questions helps does it not? Is that suddenly a problem now too? What do you want us to do then?

I mean some of them are totally comparable but many are not at all... Like insults vs compliments lol. Such as being interested in something that holds meaning and tradition and wanting to know more about it (such as a name) verses saying how dull someone's meaningless name is? Asking if someone's boyfriends penis is big (whether it be because hes black, has big hands or big feet or w.e big penis stereotype u can think of) is rude cuz irs noneya what my mans penis is.. debbie Akadely I've never done this seriously. I've only joked about these types of things, as pretty much every person from every race makes jokes about other races. Also just to point out, when you generalize and say "a white person" you are calling out whites that don't even live in America. I know this might be annoying to say, but technically, England was the first country to abolish slavery, meaning that white people also took a stand against racism long before any other race did, so we aren't really all bad, and we shouldn't all be ashamed of something we have said in the past. Every race should be proud of the things their ancestors have done that were good but remember not to boast about it.

Videos making jokes about minorities, white people tell them to "get over it, it's just a joke." Video turning that rhetoric around on white people, "stfu, how come only whites get racism these days, and not minorities?" And yes, that's not all white people, just some that do this. I expect people replying angrily will be those very racists. These aren't "white" jokes just making fun of white people. They are direct reversals of comments that are quite often made to black people, which is why there is no "If White people Said the Stuff Black People Say..." because again, that happens in real life.

Oh come on, don't act as if every black person born in this day and age has experienced extreme racism or prejudice on a constant basis because that is simply just not true. Seriously though, the holocaust happened to the jews and there is still plenty of somewhat prejudice and semi racist jokes used towards them but they were not born in the time of the holocaust just as you were not born in the time of slavery or when racism was common place so don't keep this whole constant victimization thing going as an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
@cchh110 жыл бұрын
Oh come on, don't act like hardly any black people in this day and age haven't experience extreme racism. Honestly, if you're not black you'll never get it. Just accept that. I've seen videos, performances, skits, and stand-up of people of many races, white, latino, asian, indian, other blacks, etc. making jokes about black people in the way we are, stuff we say, and how we act, and I think they're gold and so hilarious and so do other black people. What's ANNOYING is that when black people make fun of, white people, white people want to shout reverse racism when they truly don't seem to know what that really means, as if they just learned the term yesterday and can't stop using it. We don't complain about HALF the racism we enoucther because honestly hardly any other race seems to give a shit because they think "Oh its 2014, things aren't like that anymore." Other peoples suffering, in any sense or degree, shouldn't be used to diminishes your suffering. For example, I would never use my struggles in life, the racism I've encounter, to invalidate any suffering you've experienced in your life, no matter what they are. So don't act like we're trying to play the victim when we HAVE been in 2014, and wish weren't.

Y'all are so mad ab this video but fail to realize that a lot of white people subconsciously say these things and I know this from experience. Growing up in a predominantly white school made these things so close to me. I'm actually glad y'all are offended. Maybe now you'll realize that this is how a lot of you make us feel on a daily basis. Of course we don't say anything about it because we're used to at this point but it doesn't mean it isn't offensive. When y'all say these things to us, it offends us just as much as this video offended you.

Hey- you have a lot of silly people leaving rude comments. Im white- I hear you, and Im sorry. Some of these things are maliciois, and some come from genuine ignorance, or from awkward, ignorant white guilt. Id encourage you to lovingly speak up of its someone who is hurting you but otherwise seems kind. Is it fair you have to carry the burden of educating the ignorant majority? No, its not. But there are people who will do better once they know better. 💜💜💜💜 God bless.

I've noticed that my generation seems to be obsessed with subverting expectation to create awkward situations for the purposes of humour, but I'm really hoping that videos like this start to become more common, not only because I enjoy this type of humour, but it can educate and highlight inconsistencies in social norms and society.

@@xxxtentation7185 and you can’t be racist to white people, While assumptions and stereotypes about white people do exist, this is considered racial prejudice, not racism. Racial prejudice refers to a set of discriminatory or derogatory attitudes based on assumptions derived from perceptions about race and/or skin colour. Thus, racial prejudice can indeed be directed at white people (e.g., “White people can’t dance”) but is not considered racism because of the systemic relationship to power.
