It's kind of weird cause as much as I was on the Bungie Train when Reach came out, I absolutely hated the gunplay. It was garbage. For a game franchise that they toted as skill based, then turned around and introduced RNG to weapons. Huh? The gunplay in Halo 5 was worlds better, and far more reminiscent of Halo 3 than Halo Reach was, but the Spartan art style was too far from where it came from. Halo Infinite combines the gunplay of halo 5 and the art style of Halo 3/Reach but plagued by unnecessary monetization designs that all the games ultimately would have gotten anyway and yet the playerbase for Infinite is pretty small.

This is how I wish the game looked when it came out. Artstyle is everything when immersing the players. The original artstyle of 343s game's were just visual noise and felt genuinely disconnected from prior games. The blocky look of prior games before 4 was unique but somewhat familiar if you watched some sci fi military stuff from the 80s and 90s. Overall, a really good mod

@@naughtywizard I don't think they were, just that they were terrible in the sense that it's Halo. The core designs have already been made, all they had to do was to just improve on things or evolve some things. Same goes for 4 and 5 as a whole. They weren't exactly terrible, they were just too far gone from what Halo should look like and be, moreso 5. Infinite is the best Halo they have made. I love its core gameplay, how things look. I just wish they didn't mess it up with the UI/UX, lack of sensible features and content right from the start. The UI was clean but I feel that it is teetering on uninspired, a lot of the theming in Infinite feels like they teeter on uninspired, even the music. I do like that they went with a soft sounding Halo theme but they need to go bombastic on everything else. It needs to feel epic, almost edgy even. I feel like they fundamentally mistake Halo's themes as fable like, instead of it being epic because of Halo's stories naturally being so. Simply put, I wish they made it M rated. And I also wish they just packaged it as a sort of whole thing, no live service, or maybe do have a live service but sort of like TF2's? TF2 never felt live servicey but it always felt alive. The best thing we got going for Halo right now is that certain people were fired and replaced, and current 343 seems to actually listen and is seemingly in a rhythm with pushing out content. The game's fun, if SBMM is indeed a thing I hate it because sweating is not my thing and I've gotten games where miraculously my teammates decide to turn into Caboose and the enemy team either normal or full on pro-like. I hate 343's focus on competitive instead of mainly social and fun experiences and I hope they put things into equilibrium. I'm sorry for being so long-winded but I just really love how Infinite feels apart from the shitty parts of it of course.

If Bungie made Halo 4 I don't think you'd be fighting Covenant, hell I don't think you'd be in our galaxy. Bungie set 343i up with the perfect clean slate with the ending of Halo 3 but because they had books and comics and other game stories they were responsible for we ended up right back where we started fighting the same enemies. How original. Anyway, mod looks cool.

Bungie was supposed to make Halo 4 instead of Reach and ODST was supposed to be DLC for Halo 3 (that's why it felt like DLC and not a full game). Microsoft changed up leadership and their rep to Bungie was swapped out twith someone new who wanted ODST to be a full game and didn't want Bungie to end the series with Halo 4. So, instead we got Reach. Source? Marty O'Donnell himself. Very little of what Bungies orginal intent for Halo's ending exists. One example was the the original version of Snowbound had the forerunner shield world in the background before it was changed.

They made it look better than the Reach mod. I think the plasma caster actually looks sick instead of it having the same design as the concussion rifle. I usually play the firefight version of the mod a lot so I hope they can do something similar. If not, I will play the entire campaign again though

It would have been better if they just kept things looking like bungee era and then the later, half of the game would look like modern Halo present day, something they should have done. Because think about it. Chief has been separated from the rest of the military for 4 years. He's still going to be stuck in his outdated Mark 6 Gen. 2 armor still has the same weapons from 4 years ago, where it's pretty much an even fight between him and the covenant since they were scroll to the point of using outdated ancient technology. Since they didn't really have the resources, nor the skill to make new technology. Since they never did truly get to grasp the idea of invoding their technology since its re engineered Fourrunern tech Even ancient human tech was just pretty much forerunner. Tech as well. But then things start getting shaken up later in the game Plus I really think they should have had more time, so they could have at least added, like twelve levels into the game, four ten, like reach and ce, so it's not too much of a drag Or could have at least expanded the length of the levels. Regardless, I think this mod does a good job. Of what 343 Should've and could've done Allowed or not.

343 did good with infinite, but Halo is stained with the 4/5 change and the lazy explanation. Some good parts to it but overall, terrible for chief and blue team. Now if 4 had this art style and feel, it'd be my #1 pick. I love the story and the vibe of 4, with this the replayability goes up exponentially.

You clearly have Bungie’s idea of Rampancy wrong. They had been working with the idea for so long before they even thought about Halo and what played out in H4/H5 regarding Cortana is what Bungie would’ve done. She was always meant to go rampant and crazy and power hungry and evil and be a threat to humanity. That’s the whole reason she exists in the story, in another sci fi story the AI of a super soldier wouldn’t be such a huge character. She’s not a main character because AI are cool, she was introduced specifically to go crazy later on and the end of Halo 2 was setting up that idea (the flood got to her)
