Even the rest of the Z fighters like Piccolo and Tien couldn't distract Cell, so yeah Vegeta played a major role in this battle, same thing happen again in the final fight with kid Buu, the spirit bomb was Vegeta idea and he did fight Buu for a while to give Goku some time to charge his attack.Just imagine if cell didn't break Gohan arm and the same thing happen, same scenario and Vegeta helped him the same way with that ki blast? People would say that Gohan had already lost lot of power, he was tired, if only he got a senzu bean...

It was more of a mental battle everyone (including vegeta at that moment) gave it their all except gohan and he realizes that and he unleashes everything within him at the right time. When he’s killing cell, as he’s walking you don’t see goku anymore, Gohan won, he won the battle on his own in the end

I don't think so. Without the Super Saiyan God dream (which was a preminition based on Goku being alive which he isn't in this story) Beerus would have stayed asleep for MUCH longer. I recall Whis asking Beerus why he woke up so early. I think Beerus had another 100 or 1000 years of scheduled sleep or something like that. I could be wrong, but without sensing Goku's future as a god, Beerus would have slept until Cell had a good chunk of the galaxy under his control (depending on the pace he keeps). Think about it , the only reason we know what ssjb evolution and ultra instinct is is because whis was there to give commentary. I remember an alternate ending in the what-if Cell line in the game, DBZ Supersonic Warriors, in which, after killing the fighters and sending out the juniors to toy with humanity, Babidi uses the power from them to revive Buu, and the fight ends in the destruction of Earth, forcing Cell to look elsewhere for entertainment. But then, the game never really felt that accurate, at times.

I'll have to disagree with one thing. I highly doubt Cell would've finished everybody off immediately. I'll bet he would've let them leave and give them some time frame before he starts hunting them down. Like you said, Cell enjoys that face of Trunks. I think he'd revel in it more if he would hunt them down one by one. Like Krillin has 1 week, Yamcha has 2 weeks, etc. So it gives them a chance to come up with something, only to watch it fail and be in complete hopelessness.

Even if Gohan hadn't given up, an undistracted Cell would've put up a much tougher fight either way. SSJ Gohan was no match for Perfect Form Cell until he got to SSJ2. But when Cell regenerated and returned as "Perfect" Cell, he returned with roughly the same kind of boost that Gohan got in the first place... I mean, the beam shot that disabled Gohan's arm when he helped Vegeta wasn't even at full power. It wasn't all just Gohan's confidence on the line and believing his Ki was cut in half, Cell really did come back that much more powerful, and the final Kamehameha struggle was never in Gohan's favor till Vegeta gave him an opening to go all in.

Christopher Daniels I afraid this DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN to compare to what ZAMASU did in Super. THIS RIGHT HERE, was NEVER REAL. It NEVER happened. In REALITY, Gohan DEFEATED CELL and everything turned out great in the end. ZAMASU on the other hand REALLY DID SUCCEED in destroying the Future Earth.....AND *THE UNIVERSE*!!! It was ALL THANKS to Zamasu's *IMMORTALITY*. Zamasu was the FIRST VILLAIN that NONE of the Z Fighters could defeat....NOT EVEN GOKU.

It would really be nice if they actually made this story. Like putting it on TV. They did it with The History of Trunks. Granted, the Androids would eventually be destroyed, but the special itself shows a bleak world in which the villains won. The Bardock special did the same, although the Trunks special had a stronger presentation. But this idea itself, where Cell won, is really messed up. Once again, though, if it were to be translated to television, it would really be something
