Togekiss was just a mean to stop mewtwo from stopping her to summon Arceus actually. Arceus is, by default, type advantage since he could have any type he want. But she straight up never fighted Deoxys with Arceus, she used Giratina. But yeah, Spiritomb is a fair objection

Good animation, now to answer two questions. 1. Who do I think would win between the two? Canonically, Red, without a doubt, he'd stomp Cynthia so bad! Game Mechanic wise, still it's a stomp for Red, with his moveset and level advantage, he'd wipe the floor with Cynthia.Only Cynthia who would even be able to fight Red and do anything would be her TCG counterpart, because TCG Cynthia has a Rayquaza. 2. Why does Red have a Deoxys? Likely because in the manga Red actually has a blood bond with a Deoxys because when creating it, Team Rocket fused Red's blood with it, which caused the two to have a link with eachother.

so i put thier actual teams into a team builder and cynthias team had 7 type immunities being normal, fightning and psychic cause spiritomb, dragon and ground cause togekiss , poison cause lucario and garchomp is immune electric vs red's 2 type immunities being ground cause flying type charizard and ghost cause snorlax up to date if we include fairy typing, cynthias team has a total of 533 bst vs reds 495 not inlcuding megas cause both has one......both teams has good type coverage so they are tied to that category. note i used Reds HGSS team when you find him at mt. silver and cynthias champion rematch team for closer level in BDSP.
