I would disagree with the slavery charge against Magica. Considering that she created Lena from her shadow through some magic spell, the closest real world expression would be a biological mother/daughter relation with an anknown father. This, unless Magica loses custody of her daugther for her crimes, means that by default, Magica would be her legal guardian until Lena comes of age. Being the legal guardian gives Magica a lot of authority over how Lena lives her live, including diet, schooling, place of living. Now don't get me wrong, Magica is definitely manipulative towards Lena and considering her actions in later episodes she would most certainly lose custody if brought to trial. I mean the biological relation would upgrade any attempted murder charge concerning Lena into an attempted infanticide. And boy, does attempted infanticide not float well in a custody trial. But that is later. At this stage, I would argue that Magica is acting within her rights as Lenas legal guardian.
