My understanding is that Peofino lost to Kambosos and then kind of lost to Martin and Ortiz. He did beat a Taylor that had kind of lost to Catterall, so Taylor was no longer the best when Peo fought him. Peo never sought the rematch with Kambosos. Haney has done better but has little power and got lucky in the Loma fight. He beat a Regis that had already struggled against Zorrilla. Rumors are that Regis sucked in sparring. As for Cruz, he hasn't faced as good opposition as Matias, with the exception of Tank, but so did Hugo Ruiz. Matias had defeated 4 or 5 top-5 undefeated contenders so that to me is a far more solid record. Everything points to Matias being the best in that division. We'll see if any of them agrees to try to unify with Matias. I doubt it.

Big facts, Matias is the most avoided in the 140lb division. At some point, the other champions are going to seek to either unify or leave the division entirely. Hopefully, someone will step up to the plate and challenge Matias; it's like they're all waiting for the others to fight Matias first.

Every Boxing organization is different with different rules and different values. IBF NJ USA, WBA panama city Panama WBO San Juan Puerto Rico, WBC Mexico City Mexico. Holding all the titles isn't be the best, defending a Title vs the Best make legacy and legendary status.

As far as Cruz, it was great to see him whip the sh%* out of Romero. The guy is so disrespectful, see what he said at their weigh-in. If thats what he needs to do to draw himself attention, he cant be too good of a boxer. Cruz, ln a championship fight as quickly as he got it, in that division? How many fights, and who were they? Im not taking anything from Cruz, but theres a problem with belt management. There are others in the rankings that should have gotten a shot before him. Thats boxing though.
