Imagine writing that song ... about your mother. He's such an artist.

Better yet, imagine having a mother, who hurt you so bad, you made such a beautiful masterpiece talking about cutting her out of your life, and giving a performance that can be felt by all who care to listen.

This evoked so much emotionally from me. I, by the end, was sobbing. Raised by histrionic narcissistic mother, that well was a lot and still is. So i feel him and Oliver Anthony should go out on tour together. Let the music lead their way to healing and inspire others to do the same.

Check out the song by Nolan named DARKNESS. I was lucky enough to catch Nolan here in Houston at a local bar. The show was amazing and I was right up front. Amazing artist who isn't afraid to put it all out there. With everything we are going through right now as a human race, we NEED to make connections like this so we don't feel so alone. 💗

I been watchin your channel for years. It's amazing to see you react to someone I know personally. Tons of people have reached out to him to let him know how much this song has meant to them, which is about his mother. His father, who he mentions in this song, drives to every single show no matter where he's playing. He also just signed with Atlantic Records this summer.

I agree. We need a music revolution and revival in this country. If it comes from us Appalachian hillbillies, even better. I'm hoping the fame of Oliver Anthony brings more attention to artists like Nolan. There are a lot of great artists on RadioWV, AppalachiaUntold, and WesternAF, just to name a few.

This, like a lot of non-traditional music gets classified as "Country" are not really country. This could be made into a fantastic country song but they way its presented its a cross between folk and late 60s singer song writer style. Unfortunately for Nolan, walking way doesn't mitigate the pain or anger. The anger he is displaying can be consuming and he clearly hasn't walked away from it. I hope making and performing this is helping to release the anger without being consumed.

totally agree about propping up mediocre talent propped up by the big companies force feeding it to us on the radio. and then the same songs overplayed crap nonstop on the radio vs real authentic talent like this guy. which is why the big old school companies are freaking out when guys like Oliver Anthony buck the system and go viral without them

False... if anything, ole Oliver is a copy of Nolan... Nolan has been at this music thing quite a bit longer than the latest flash in the pan media driven folk hero. Just because you heard Oliver first, doesn't mean everyone you hear after is his copy... ..
@jkdbob3483 Жыл бұрын
I've watched this man come from hole in the wall open mic to what he's achieving now over the course of 4 or 5 years. If you knew anything the current Appalachian scene you'd know there are quite a few artists "like Oliver" who have been at it much longer than he has. If it looks visually familiar, it's because Radio WV does most of their filming in the woods like they did with Oliver.
