I lost my brother at 1:23 am this thanksgiving.I was with him when he left this world,and left hospital to drive the 2 hr trip home at 4:30 am. On the interstate with no traffic only the stars this song came on the radio.I listened with tears rolling down my cheecks, it was my brother telling me he was safe and in heaven having a beer with jesus. Thank you, Ill never forget the peace this song gave me that morning I lost my brother

To all of those who sit and place judgement..you are in for far more hurt than those who are so humble to want to be in the presence of Jesus. Even if its over a table with a cold beer. LISTEN to the WORDS!! If you look past your judgement you will find the real meaning in this. I think alot more people need to hear this and its powerful message. It will touch alot of people who may not have known how to reach out. But most importantly..DO NOT JUDGE!!!!

It reminds me of the song "If Heaven Weren't so Far Away," a song with special meaning to me that I heard on a very rough day back in 07/19/12. This is a good one, timely, and so fitting.....

I couldn't wait to find this song again ! I heard this on the radio on the way to work the other morning ! This is my Daddy , fits him to a T ! I can see him asking Jesus to pull up a chair and he'll buy them a couple of cold ones ! I had to cry cause daddy's sick now and not getting around like he used to but he sure likes his Bud !

I first heard this song a few days ago, performed by its co-writer, Lance Miller. Gave me chills. This young man sings it beautifully, as well. It may be my all-time favorite country song! I am deeply moved by this song. Those words must come from a person whose heart is truly in the right place. Set the 'beer drinking' aside. Just the fact that this man expresses a desire to have a few minutes with Jesus, Who surely would take the time to spend with him, means he is open to the greatest Friend we can have. I don't think anyone has a corner on what Jesus would or wouldn't do. We do have the Word of God though. It tells us that He is holy, just, full of grace, and He is love. He saves sinners...all of us. What He chooses to do or not to do after we trust in Him as Lord and Savior, is all up to Him. We don't have as much say in it as we might like to think. He is absolute Lord and God and none of us determines how He interacts with any of us. He'll tell us Himself thru the Spirit and the Word.

You can't slap the word Jesus on just anything and think it is good. There are limits. It takes someone who loves Jesus to know the difference. Remember, he was the son of a carpenter, and raised as a carpenter. Think about any construction workers you know...they probably have calloused hands, leathery tanned faces, and rough skin. This was a Jesus the common man could (and still can) relate to. I really feel this was what the song was trying to say...whether you agree with the beer or not, the sentiment rings true. Instead of focusing on what you don't like, think about this: what would you ask Jesus? Scarier, what would he ask you?
