Townes Van Zandt will never die. Guy Clark told a story about when Townes was living with the Clark's temporarily. One morning at breakfast Townes sang this song. Guy said that's nice. Where did that come from? Townes said "I wrote it last night in my sleep". He just woke up in the middle of the night with this song running through his head so he got up, wrote it down and went back to sleep.

It's okay no one sings licks anyway. Vocalists usually sing hooks, verses and choruses. They aren't that complex. Anyone who wants to get better at it can. Doesn't mean yo will become Pavarotti but if Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan can sing in public with a little practice and maybe a few lessons you probably can too.I can't promise that because some people are tone deaf or have vocal afflictions that make singing pleasingly unlikely. That said most people can sing if they try. And even if you can't there is no shame in having fun with it by yourself or with friends .

The technology to make this available on a worldly scale is amazing, but the actual event and humanity of the moment are far more incredible. If technology went away this circle would still exist and that’s what matters.
