Disney Pocahantas has really meaningful soundtracks like this as one of my favorites. I love the emotions shown here live.

Knowing someone is great love, it goes beyond the surface of mental acknowledgement, it cuts deep like a two edged sword. Knowing someone grows with experience. Spiritually and romantically.

Hahaha! I agree about Jon! I remember watching this when it aired thinking "how could they make these talented singers chop this beautiful song up just to fit into a time slot!?" But still lovely...

I know...love singers who can bring it live as well as in the studio.

You can tell Jon had a cold here and was congested. He was able to sing through it without cracking because he has great technique. This is high for a guy

If I never knew you If I never felt this love I would have no inkling of How precious life can be And if I never knew you I would never have a clue How at last I'd find in you The missing part of me In this world so full of fear Full of rage and lies I can see the truth so clear In your eyes So dry your eyes And I'm so grateful to you I'd have lived my whole life through Lost forever If I never knew you If I never knew you I'd be safe but half as real Never knowing I could feel A love so strong and true I'm so grateful to you I'd have lived my whole life through Lost forever If I never knew you I thought our love would be so beautiful Somehow we made the whole world bright I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong All they'd leave us were these whispers in the night But still my heart is singing We were right If I never knew you There's no moment I regret If I never knew this love I would have no inkling of If our time has gone too fast I've lived at last How precious life can be I thought our love would be so beautiful Somehow we'd make the whole world bright I thought our love would be so beautiful We'd turn the darkness into light And still my heart is singing We were right We were right And if I never knew you I'd have lived my whole life through Empty as the sky Never knowing why Lost forever Songwriters: Alan Menken / Stephen Laurence Schwartz

Many singers use facial muscles to help them sing on key.
@quiddy4 жыл бұрын
He had a cold so he had to use more of his nasal and facial muscles to create sound.

Worst version of this song I've ever heard, in my opinion. Far too jazzy, and missing some of the great deep sound in the original song...
@KyaunneeRichardson11 ай бұрын
it's not all as jazzy as you think. It's just far to short for the tv segment. And you still have Jon and Shanice who still bring out the emotion of the whole piece in just a little moment. It may not have the full orchestra like we all want but if you listen to Alan Menken singing it on piano in a demo recording, you can hear the simplicity in the piece. And I believe that's what they achieved here in just 3 minutes. it still works.

@@KyaunneeRichardson I love this one. There's only one instrument here and original is over 4 minutes. This is the perfect acoustic version, making people want more.
