I watched 3 of your videos over the weekend, but it was this one that made me sub. Thanks. I appreciateyour content.

Nice to see someone not just immediately brushing off water-washable. Sunlu and Anycubic's water-washable ABS-likes have given me a truly remarkable pile of (durable) shame. They are excellent resins and not brittle - you can cut/scrape them just like plastic - and they have survived drops onto my concrete garage floor.

I don't see enough talk online about how important teperature is for the washing and curing step. I just started printing and the only safe place i can do it is my cold cellar - it's perfect since it's a solid concrete box on all walls and is totally sealed off with a metal door (VOC reader confirms none are leaking) and I've added powered venting to the 4" vents it comes with, and no windows means no errant UV light. Everyone says resin has to be warm, so I built a heated chamber for the printer and it works. The problem is, did you know if you try to wash and cure in the cold it can... Just not work? I thought i was crazy. I was washing 28mm scale minis for like 10mins and curing them for like 20 and they were still tacky. Turns out it was the almost freezing temps of my cold cellar in January in Canada causing the cleaning failures. I personally think way too mamy people are far too nonchalant about the dangers of resin and all the VOCs of this hobby. For me now I'm really not sure where to go from here. I can keep the sealed alcohol outside the cold cellar door to keep it warm but it's hard to cure in my heat chamber cause I'll need to open the door to run the cure machine which will let out all the heat and I'm not curing in the house period.

How do you properly dispose of the waste from water washable resins? I usually just let the liquid evaporate right now as I'm using IPA, leave towels in the sun to let resin resiude harden and throw it out as "restaffald".

as a total newbie in resin prints, i have much more failures with presuported files than with ones that i support myself. in fact, imho, proper supporting is first thing one should learn, yes, some resin will be wasted, some time will be spent, some frustrations will be happening, but, it's a learning curve. every printer is different, too many variables, learn your hardware, learn how to support, learn how to print, that is not the easiest way, but is's the only that leads to sucess and, yes, in 2025 is still smelly, its still messy, dont be fooled into thinking that is not.

Well, pre-supported does not mean they are well made supports :) I know a lot of people that are super happy never learning how to do supports. It can quickly turn into a new hobby. Which is cool if you that is what you want, for others they just want to hit button and get model.

@micronmonster of course, that is truth, but, only succesfull print(s) is what is counting..... and if, and that was my case, percentage of sucessfull prints when printing pressuported files is low, then only option is to learn how to properly support.... whole proces is (still) not a plug and play, but that is a part of hobby, you don't have to do it perfectly, and still can get good print.

A solid roundup. Anycubic+ water washable clear is great. I've bashed through almost 8kg of it with the only fails being because of bad supports. I use a squeezy safety wash bottle with the tube (the type tattoo artists use) instead of a spray, it gives more pressure to wash off prints.

Thanks! i have one of those bottles. Maybe I should give it a test run to see if it makes a difference :)

Thank you for this!!! I have a fdm printer already, but I have a Saturn 4 Ultra on the way, and I've found this very helpful

Order gk3 pro as my first printer is it bad? 😅

Great printer! With a heated VAT it is very hard to go wrong really. You might have overpaid a bit for the features you are getting. The pro version shines UV light at a different wave lenght than other printers. It simply means you can use some more exotic resin for very specific use cases.

@micronmonster idk though have you seen whats happening with the scam on ultra?? I may ask for a refund

It is all a bit weird yes. Personally I would not preorder anything really, but I sure would hope they learned from that disaster :)
