i love the characterization of the dad here. like its so clear that he's tied between thinking "i need to know what's going on here." and "y'know what, there are some things that are fine for me to not know." which like given the worldbuilding that both his kids do at least some witchcraft, combined with his daughter's convoluted romantic life, makes a lot of sense.

I feel like there are times when this dad is fighting the urge to fall back into the vampire hunting ways he was brought up in by his dad. If the vampires are going to be 1000 years old and date 17 year old girls, I think they should be listed on a hunting list somewhere

Only excuse I can extend would be if their brain development is also locked at their age of turning into a vampire. Even if so, I would think the centuries of life experience would mature them beyond the point of being able to date minors.
