A professor once gave me a choice: I could do a easy presentation in front of the class or take a very hard test. I chose the test, barely passed but I dont regret a bit.
@aeli9993 жыл бұрын
I managed to convince a teacher once to give us papers instead of taking tests because I'm bad at those. I also convinced another teacher to let us write papers instead of presenting our information orally. I wasn't popular with the others in those classes, but I got A's in both. lol First teacher I had an in with because our fathers had gone to the same university, at different times. Second was because she saw me stumbling through a paragraph and knew I couldn't do it. I remember them both fondly.
@michellegriff133 жыл бұрын
As an introvert with GAD and DPD/DRD, I was terrified of talking in front of others through presentation or answering simple questions. Legal and illegal substances gave me some courage so in my mid 20s I decided to attend trade school but I was still terrified of what I might do/say if called upon by the teacher. Oh and I forgot to mention that math damn near paralyzes me. Anyway, the teacher loved me because I was a good student and respectful. One day she asked me to give an example of RX formulas and how cross multiplication is needed to determine accurate medication dosages. My classmates said I turned bluish-green around my eyes/mouth and face looked like pallor mortis. They all knew I had issues and could feel my terror. I didn't want to disappoint this teacher due to previous bad experiences so I went to the board and followed her instructions while explaining the formula. I got everything correct and my classmates applauded as I returned to my seat. Since then I knew I could finally do things that my family had always told me I was incapable of. We have to pick and choose our battles and thankfully many teachers nowadays see that some students need alternatives and they offer it. I just wish I'd had more teachers like that while in school versus the fuck heads that were no different than my family.

You see, in his head, he was thinking of all sorts of nuanced opinions to share, but every time he had finished planning out exactly what to say, the conversation had either had moved onto a different topic that wasn’t entirely relevant to what he wanted to say, or he simply got too nervous to talk, thinking he might interrupt someone who was also eager to speak. Because our current society is build mostly by extroverts, dear! We're just starting to use translators and assign the "mix" or "educated & truly social extrovert" type of people to communicate our requirements for functioning or even highly contributing to society! 😝 We would either die early, be wives to wealthy and overly busy extroverts or reside in shrines/monasteries/convents in the many ages before! 😂 Or.... you know..... have wealthy donors depending too much on our nerd skills to not bear with our "odd attics". 🤣 But in the age of internet, impersonal, voiceless written communication has become a place where most people are, extroverts retreat to pictures, videos and short communication while we leave essays without the fear of stuttering and the leasure to scroll past any uncivilised rude "grunting" that extroverts spread in a stress reaction as they're faced with complex and valid backed up argumentation. 🤓 (Please note: This comment is a joke. It's partially true yet the mean bits on extroverts are not how I see extroverted people. 😘 Thake those bits with a grain on salt. Or two.)

I am an introvert-- I prefer my own company to everyone else's and in relationships I've been known to sneak time for myself, so much so that my partner suspects I'm cheating. Shy I most certainly am not. I'll go toe to toe with anyone, anywhere, anytime. I'm just usually not inclined to bother, as it takes time away from the things I am actually interested in. There's only so damn much of me to go around and so many hours in a day.

Person: “hey what’s up?” Me: how the fuck am I even supposed to answer this question. I don’t want to say the generic “nothing much” because then the conversation will get super awkward. And that person will judge me and probably never talk to me again.

How does the Translator know what we want to say? Is he an ENFP?

@@chaussurerl7312 Ehh. I'd actually disagree here. You'd need someone with complimentary cognitive functions, not just the "E" to your "I" 😅 That being said, ENFPs are kind of naturally good at picking up on what people actually mean (in my experience...unless you're an ISTJ) so they'd be perfect for the job.

I am alone but not lonely. I simply want to have time to hang out with myself. If I need some time to myself, it doesn’t mean I’m mad at my friends and doesn’t want to be with them anymore. I’m not that weird like my friends because I prefer talking than just mess up everywhere. I might not be sociable but that doesn’t mean I’m shy. People say I’m too serious to have fun, but I have my own way to have fun.

"Does anyone know the answer?" Translator: Yes, she does, she's known all the answers but she's terrified of raising her hand and speaking out loud. But if she doesn't speak out loud her participation grade's gonna sink and the teacher will think that she's stupid, along with the whole class. So she ends up keeping her hand down, having the teacher call on her because she's always silent, and looks like a fool in front of everyone.
