This feature would be great! I had no clue about guilty gear having that function either. I’ll definitely have to give that a try but if I had this for mvc2 it would be a major game changer!

So it's like the rewind feature that a lot of racing games have adopted. That would be pretty amazing to have in fighting game replays.

This is definitely a feature EVERY fighting game needs to have moving forward. With replay takeover/override, it makes it more entertaining than just only watching replays, you can experience it. I have yet to try it in GGAC+R or any other fighter that has it. But now I think I need to try it

I would love for Capcom to do a 1p vs CPU mode in VS, and a single match similar to the ps1 versions of certain games. Capcom vs snk 2, street fighter anniversary collection, and alpha anthology had 1p vs cpu in vs on ps2 versions.

2:05 what I struggled with in real time, was getting crossed up by some cheap ass, *_unblockable_* assists, making it impossible for me to defend myself! I don't struggle with this against high level players in ANY of the other VS titles! Only MvC2! I hate it! I don't rely on assists! I am a rushdown type! Anytime an opponent bombards me with assists, I get disoriented in the chaos. That might be the point for them, but it is an unfair advantage for me

Good assists can win games. Make sure you have one on your team. Even as rushdown they can be superuseful. Magneto is the most rushdown character and he really benefits from Psylocke's amazing anti-air assist.

@@desmaku87 common discourse since +R dropped was the viabilitty of implanting RT into older games in an attempt to keep the game's competitive side fresh. This topic just been popping up alot since people were stuck on " Strive(yuck) may have replay takeover". I dont feel it to be a viable solution to attract ppl in strives case but in mvc2's case, it can spurn new tech if anything, cuz that game STILL has wacky ass frames even after being ported to modern consoles.....three times.

doing what ppl have been doing for "20 years" doesn't make it good or efficient learning. not everyone played the game 20 or 30 years ago. not everyone had access to an arcade or local scene. not everyone plays on fightcade or matchmakes on discord. thats like saying games shouldnt have training modes, you should just learn the game by just playing people only....

@desmaku87 it has training mode and you do get better playing other people, all I'm saying is the feature you want is unnecessary people can still get good with what's available, some new feature isn't going to help you beat people who have legacy on the game

@@DaEmeTRex that was written very nicely by you. But the game is still highly unplayable online when top tier characters are super broken. Or you could just get good, you know like every other video game. It's called a learning curb. You're suggesting a gameplay mechanic that literally tells you how to defeat a better player instead of just learning on your own to do better? This kind of mechanic is for gaming journalists with no gaming skills who try reviewing beat'em up games. I'm not sorry for saying it. Beat'em up championship 🏆 players who play tournaments professionally don't need a replay mechanic to defeat better players. They just practice & learn from actual experience to be better than the other guy Secondly how hard is it in today's gaming world to set up recording features for live streaming & simply study your own gameplay gameplay? This amounts to training wheels for beat'em ups. Its literally an analytical program that catalogues a better player's moves & then shows you how to defeat a better player. This boarders dangerously on a cheat program. If you need a gameplay mechanic to tell you how to play better then you're a trash 🗑️🤬 player with no comprehensive learning ability. How sad would it be to the beat'em community if a famous & skilled beat'em up player lost a a newb player who simply used such a program to win a championship tournament? The whole point of beat'em ups is to be the best player you can be without using a program that tells you how to win. It's called "GET GOOD" for a reason

First of all, your live stream question is first world problems. The average player realistically don't have those resources. The most they could probably do, depending on the console, is 30 second clips. 2ndly, Not everybody has the time to train anymore. You're talking about some fighting games that people have been playing for damn near THREE DECADES! People got lives, wives, husbands and children. Get real! I don't know if you've noticed, but coming from a Street Fighter fan since 1992, *_fighting games are hard._*

You clearly don't know anything about fighting games if this is what you think about replay takeover. Almost every fighting game is starting to incorporate it in some way. Tekken 8 launched with it and Street Fighter 6 just implemented it recently. You'll also find tons of high level players commending and using the feature. To the most of my knowledge, the first game to utilize it was GGXX+R's steam port, and it was a lauded feature. It's always so funny to listen to people like you constantly harp on about journalists. How would a journalist make use of replay takeover? Especially if you're trying to imply their ineptitude? While I do feel like replay takeover is something that can be used by players of all skill levels, the people that are going to get the most out of it are intermediate-high level anyway. It's a tool for labbing situations and outcomes, not a free win button. And where did you get this idea that it tells you how to beat the opponent? It's not artificial intelligence. All it does it let you take control of specific portions of your previously played matches. So, if someone keeps using a specific setup against you, you can go back to that match, return to the part of the match you were having trouble with, and try out different solutions. If anything, it's just cutting out needless hours in the lab where you're recording the dummy and trying to replicate said situation. Anyway, you sound like a tool and a scrub.
