Definitely feel this! I always ask ‘which game are we playing? 90s NBA or late 2010s-early 2020s NBA?’ When asked ‘who wins?’ I’m biased, but I still say Bulls…mainly because MJ was a buck-seventy-five (maybe…soaking wet…) the first time he went up against the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons. He was 210 when he finished his career. Steph doesn’t have the frame to do that (unless he gets on steroids). Further, he’s never been FORCED to do that! His skinny-armed, 160 lbs would get DESTROYED in that era and he would be about as good as his daddy (or maybe, like, a smaller Reggie Miller). My arms are the size of his arms…I’m a 40-plus-old has-been, not a professional athlete…how is it possible that I’m confident I could out-bench him (and I haven’t touched a barbell or bench rack in a decade)?!?

The thing is that Steph is a great 3-point shooter partially because he has the green light. If you took the shots Steph did in the 90s your coach would put you on the bench even if you made the shot. Because of that, nobody really practiced long range threes. He's great at shooting, but there are more and more guys all the time that can hit from insane range because coaches now allow them to do it. If he had an old school 90s coach, he'd never get a shot off, because he needs the extra space from defenders that he gets from those long range shots. If he were given the green light he has, he could make some shots even with 90s rules. He'd be a complete liability on defense though.

Steph creates space off ball more than anything else. He also has handles that can compare (favorably more often than not) to anyone from the 90s. The highlight reels show his handles but his scoring really comes from his off ball movement combined with 400 screens per minute. (/sarcasm) Most of his threes aren't logo shots, he can just make those more consistently. If Reggie Miller and Steve Kerr can green lit to shoot 3s, do can Steph Curry. He would still be a great player or at the very least shooter. In that era or any other. Also has a nice floater and pretty decent touch around the rim, can be crafty/creative getting closer to the basket but that would be tougher for his current build if he were in the 90s. He would also have plenty of time to develop differently and adjust to a different NBA so there's that. No one knows how that would go. His defense is not good. Maybe he would adjust, idk. I don't think I'd bet on that but he sure could stretch the floor on offense.

@Nathan Newman an example of a player that would have hit that range at his time would be "Pistol" Pete Maravich. Incredible shooter who practiced shooting all the time. If shooting deep range was as acceptable as it is now, he might be up there for the greatest shooter of all time.
