If Nirvana's 'Opinion' was released on Nevermind

Nirvana never recorded Opinion because a box of cassettes with over 20 Nirvana demos was destroyed in a flooding in his house in 1991 and the band had forgotten that the radio demo existed. It's a shame because we'll never know what those songs would have sounded like. Dave Grohl later said that some of those demos were better than anything the band had recorded but they were unfortunately unsalvageable. Two of the songs from those demos survived though because they were unaffected and those songs were All Apologies and an early version of Heart Shaped Box.

Fun fact: Kurt probably wanted to include 'opinion' in their new album, as he worked on new versions of 'opinion' in his home studio in around 92-94. There is short version of it available on KZbin called Montage of Heck Opinion

Seriously. Even after four years this thing's been around, it sounds like at least something from the transitional period, between Nevermind and In Utero. The tuning is well fit for that vibe: it seems close to both Eb and Standard E tuning, somewhere in the middle. Could've probably been recorded for Incesticide, lol Really great cover, tho. The audio quality really sounds like a 90's song, so extra bonus points for that! I'm curious to know how you got that quality, for real.

PrototypeD thank you so much! Honestly for the recording of that guitar tone I copied what butch vig did when he recorded nevermind by layering 3 - 4 guitar tones over the top of each other and panning them accordingly! Just played with different sounds until it felt right!

Great cover! I have recovered an old version that we did of Opinion with my high school band Skum back in 2004 and I've also uploaded it to KZbin. "With the lights out" had just come out and we were immersed in the new Nirvana material. What a great time!
