i mean papa louie bascially tricks all of his employees in the games into working for him either through false lotteries or in pancakeria forcing the protagonist to come to the pancakeria because he has their cat/dog and tricking them into working there, so in a sense papa games are already horror games based on the exploitation of workers under a capitalistic overlord (i cant believe i just said all that about the papa's games 💀)

As someone who likes playing a lot of the papas games and knows some of its crazy story/lore, your slasher cannibal papa louie was hella cool and also hilarious, but also Louis is already such a menace in the games, he's a chaotic neutral dimension hopping immortal demigod who traps/tricks/pressures unfortunate people into working at his fast food restaurants under subpar conditions whilst also fighting off an evil mad scientist (who turned himself into a radish) who has an entire army of sentient foods from an alternate dimension trying to take over their world. It's wild, I know 😂

3:30 The fairies in Celtic mythology are really fascinating and while in those stories they're definitely not the "cutesy winged creatures" modern media usually portrays them as, they're not always evil either. Sometimes they mean well, but they still cause problems. Like in Diarmuid Ua Duibhne's legend where one of the sidhe gives him, as a gift, an enchanted mole (or beautymark of some kind) into his face that makes every woman who sees his face fall in love with him. As one can imagine, troubles ensue. It's kinda fascinating how stories about sidhé and Tuatha du Danainn and such slowly got mixed into other folklore creatures.

I was SO GOOD at Papa's Freezeria, I always got almost maximum tips and coins with everything you could get tips on. However I was horrible at Papa's Wingeria. Just something about the timing of flipping that sauce bowl got me frustrated. Anyway! Great video, brings back memories :]

I really love the Toadette redesign in particular - it almost seems like a creature from some sort of miner’s folklore. A species that while not having any stories of being outwardly hostile, everybody is terrified of and nobody knows anything about. Even the dwarves that live in the depths where they’ve been spotted are too nervous to approach or observe them. (The last sighting of one of the creatures might even be something of concern in cave real estate lol)

You could have kept Toadette's bright pink. Anything in nature that is vibrantly colored is dangerous. I feel the muted palette makes it a bit too tryhard. As for the fairy character, maybe had her wings be a venus flytrap instead of a generic leaf. It would give her a carnivorous plant motif instead of her skirt looking like random fangs. Lean into the folklore aspect of appearing harmless, but is really dangerous.

Dude, as a kid I would spend HOURS reading the Neopian Times. Spooky was one of my favorite Neopets comics. I remember spending a decade to save up for a Fairy Paintbrush for my first Neopet.
