I wonder if they wrote it? If it was made the way bird guides are, there would be watercolours and index pages. Displays of males and females as well as adolescent looks. Maps depicting known populations and migration patterns. Phonetic mating calls. Perhaps an appendix in the back with baby pictures. I see it clearly 🐥

He was in the forest observing deer from a raised hide, when instead of red deer a couple showed up eager to mate shall we say. One of them just so happened to be his best friend's husband (it's a relatively small village) making things even worse. So he involuntarily found himself in a similar situation to the people watchers at the end of the sketch. I'm so going to send the sketch to him, haha.

@@remycallie If you're talking about your ancestry, then do that. "My ancestry is 3/4 Irish." Although that is interesting only to Americans, it's not a thing elsewhere and telling such detail to a local person does not make them feel connected to you in any way, but the opposite, bc talking about it is foreign to the culture. 6th generation American has no connection to the culture, but often you guys pretend like it would come with genes. Then you insist that others should be interested in your ancestry, bc Americans are, and somehow you miss the irony. So no respect for the culture for real either, the one you are pretending interest to, although you only went to tell, that people of that culture should be more american and less of that actual culture and their ways are wrong. Just like you do in your comment. Also, where you ancestry is from totally depends on which time period we're talking about.
@remycallie
@remycallie 4 ай бұрын
@@lyondragons8898 It’s the hostility I don’t get. Certainly when Presidents Kennedy or Biden showed up, every effort was made to welcome them and show them the places where their ancestors came from. Were people secretly sneering at them behind their back? Was John Fitzgerald Kennedy not Irish? Caroline Kennedy was married in a dress embroidered with shamrocks. Was that ridiculous? Nobody is saying, or thinking, “I’m ¾ culturally Irish” (whatever that would even mean - that they had a love of drinking and UK soccer teams? How about if my family is Catholic and my sister was a champion Irish dancer?) But beyond the superficial trappings of “culture,” I am who I am because of who my parents were and how they raised me, and the same for them and for their parents. We did not spring de novo from the soil of North America. I have visited Ireland twice. I saw my name on country roads and inns and shops. I appreciated where these people came from and what it must have meant for them to leave - and yet retain the love of their homeland and to try to pass that on to their children for generations. That this love is returned with hostility is very hurtful. Maybe it IS a cultural thing to be nasty (although I really, really doubt it) but where I come from, when someone tells you something that's important to them but not to you, you don't reply "well, in my culture nobody gives a sh&* about that so if you respected my culture you'd shut up."

This sketch reminds me of two other wonderful FAH things, both from a few years ago: the sketch about passive-aggressive behaviour called "When People Talk to Their Children About You;" and a certain Patreon video in which Hog played an air traffic controller. Woohoo, tour dates! Nice to hear that the FAH subspecies of sketch comedian will be migrating outside of their home territory soon... although I'm told they may be Skittish when observed 😉.

I was at a public festival downtown and the Adventist had a booth handing out bottles of water. The offered me one, and when I asked them how much they said nothing, that they were only there to do something to serve the community. Good for them, but also kind of sad that doing something nice like that caught so many people off guard.

Brilliant! I lived and worked in Florence when I was young and used to sit on the Ponte Vecchio with friends and guess the nationality of the tourists. We usually got it right, except for mixing up German and Dutch tourists. Both were very well equipped and tidy, but the Dutch told more jokes (apologies for the stereotyping). We were entertained by the game, but not nearly as much as by your version - thank you!

@Foil Arms & Hog, on The Simpsons there was a very old reference in one of the early seasons, when Homer was accused of sexual harassment. Groundskeeper Willie saved Homer’s reputation by recording the whole exchange, but said, “In America [recording people] makes you look like a pervert, [spoken desperately] but every single Scottish person does it! “ 😂 Also great Wonder Wall reference.
