Chevy NOW switched from Mexican workers to Chinese workers. Don't know if any of them ended up in the USA but definitely some of the south Korea ones from the old daewoo factory did. We ended up with 3 different GMs here in Australia from Korea. All were crap including a midsized SUV that had 13 different common problems with many of them. All only a couple years old or less.

I actually have a positive Chevy story: When I was 21, I had a Chevy cavalier. I was driving through the bluffs in Eastern Wisconsin to go visit my grandparents. I was pulled over for doing 35 in a 25 up a fairly steep hill. I told the officer "no offense, but this car can not go 35 up a hill." He let me go, didn't even get a warning. Thanks Chevy, for making a car that can't physically speed up hill.

@Mulken Howards I did the scheduled maintenance, only put 5k miles on the vehicle in 9 months bc it spent most of it's last 4 months at the dealership "getting fixed". They replaced 4 sensors, 2 filters, the plugs twice, 3 fuel injectors, 2 valves & springs then when the motor went nuts they gave up & wanted to either do a complete rebuild or a new motor.

They were chasing sensor codes, fuel starvation in a cylinder, wrong shims in valve seats from the factory & it was after i had a lengthy conversation with customer service from GM corporate that they sent 2 engine "specialists" to look at my car that they decided to completely rebuil or install a new motor. The 2 "specialists" said they didn't even understand how quality control could have let that motor be installed. Had similar issues with an oldsmobile i owned in my 20's. The only good gm car I've owned was a 77 trans am. I have friends that have great gm trucks & even they won't buy a car from gm, their second cars are all toyotas & hondas

Mrs Limee I was a junior mechanic at a Chevrolet dealer, and a Pontiac/Cadillac dealer in the early 80s. It was the same back then! It’s as if gremlins invade the car after the warranty is over! The only Chevys that were ever any good were the Chevrolet Spectrum (I owned one and it was great) and the Chevy Luv pickup truck (both built in Japan by Izusu).

My uncle bought a 2 year old gmc Sierra and the transmission started missing shifts after a few weeks. He brought it to the dealer they “fixed” it by replacing the fluid. That didn’t fix the issue so he brought it back. They replaced the fluid again but this time they messed something up because his transmission blew up right on the highway.
