I'm still only 3 and a half minutes in but I have to admit that having your wife participate in doing a video was a brilliant idea. I think there are a lot of people whether female or male who would be just as nervous as she seems to be trying to pull this off (myself included). Kudos.

Jessica did phenomenal. I really think this video will encourage more women to try to fix their electronics. I was so afraid of breaking something that took me years to finally try it myself. Another Idea for a video could be Jessica changing the Joycon shells, it's something a lot of people want to do but they don't feel confident enough to try it themselves.

Yes! It's definitely more intimidating to work with electronics than it is to actually fix them. When I learned how to assemble my own PC when I was 19, I was blown away with how straightforward it was. A little reading online and double checking to make sure parts are compatible is all it takes.

This was one of the best videos educationally for the casual fixer as it shows sometimes the guide not being fully duplicable and the small details on tools/assembling techniques, and feel of the unit (heatsink looseness) when putting back together

Please continue doing this style; you guys have great chemistry, and it works well. Your laughter and constant smiling definitely transfer to the genuine followers of the channel. This is an excellent device to work on; it's relatively easy, and not too easy - like that ribbon cable that's tough lining up sometimes and easy to break. Jessica is quite determined, talented, friendly, and a gem! She got it on her own and was ready to ask when she needed help; she had the right mindset to do this! It was nice seeing you both doing Q&A during the live stream and introducing your wife, Steve; you both make a great team! You do great work Steve, I'm an admirer of your work and determination. One of the big issues the BIG companies play on is peoples lack of confidence to try to repair and use it as an an excuse to encourage a throw away culture. It's good to see what you can do with the excellent guides & info out there, support from the repair community (Steve). The more we all do it and trust our capabilities the better and hopefully the tide may eventually change. Even if you fail what have you lost & you'll be better next time.

One advice I can give you is to start small. If you have any electrical device thats broken, tear it apart. Maybe you‘ll find the fault, or at least you‘ll understand how it works. You have nothing to lose, since it‘s already broken and you can‘t make it worse. That’s how I started. I couldn’t fix it, but I learned. I‘m far away from Steve though. It is big fun to bring dead tech back to live. My first repair was a 20“ LCD monitor w/o backlight I got for free. I replaced two bulging capacitors and there was light again. Since I had a CRT at that time, it was a big step up.
