@ALadCalledPruitt Dude, there is an orchestral cover of "sun killer" by spiritbox. go watch that video! it gave me the chills when i heard the orchestral version of that song. i hope, whoever posted that video, adds Courtney LaPlant's isolated vocals to that cover of "sun killer". and by the way, this song is awesome. would've made the sleep token album better if this was on the album instead of the electronic version that has the electronic drums on the album version of the song. sleep token rocks!

THIS! So many fan-made recreations miss the mark, especially when making a heavier version. It's often just the vocals layered over metal instrumentals. I'm reaaaally impressed with what you've done with SSD 5 kit - I'm assuming it's the free one? Care to share some mix tips or process?

Thank you! It is SSD 5.5 but the paid version, on this song I’ve mixed 2 samples together for both snare and kick for a thick punchy sound. I keep routing minimal for the most part and send direct and room mics to the same channel for kick, snare, toms, hihat, and cymbals. Mixing wise I like to use JST clip for gain staging, JST EQ, standard compressor, add saturation with Magma BB Tubes, JST Transify to shape transients occasionally. Then on the bus I use a drum bus compressor, more saturation, maybe a touch of mild EQ. Maybe I’ll do a vid on my mixes sometime soon!

Not a cover. Definitely a remix. Honestly, I'm bamboozled in a bad way. I opened this expecting a COVER - which usually implies new vocals and new instrumentalization. This has neither? This is just a guitar remix. It's not bad, but it does feel almost disrespectful to the original artist. Even Content ID recognizes this as Sleep Token.
