A few years back, I stumbled upon a film crew recording an outside shoot in the Highlands of Scotland. Literally in the middle of nowhere. Their security goon stood in front of the car and refused to let me drive on the public road, claiming that the road was closed and I had to take a detour which would have been miles out of the way. Took around 15 minutes of arguing until I forced my way through. One minute later I found the camera crew sitting on their behinds beside their BBC trucks drinking tea. They immediately jumped up and tried to flag me down. I kept driving. Called the local council later on and found out that they didn't have the right to close the road. Working for a media company inflates many an ego. To hell with the BBC.

My family purchased films on Amazon only for Amazon to remove them. So we've gone back to buying discs as they can't take them away. One minute your favourite show is on one service so you subscribe, only for half of your favourite show to move to another service so you have to subscribe to that service too. Before you know it you need 4 or more subscriptions services just to watch your favourite show. They keep swapping and changing so much it's hard to keep up with it all.

juvenile filming, causing disruption is childish

this flying is also illegal. this is against caa rules , overflying people and property is illegal , that has nothing to do with the permission he got from atc. that permission only allowed him to fly a drone in the airport zone.

@@justsayin644 educate yourself.. if he has done all his courses and got his certificates, he could potentially be allowed to fly over commercial, residential and industrial buildings and fly closer than 50m to people (all certificate dependent) . And it also depends on the drone being flown, this one is a dji mini, which is below 250g.. you can research the rest yourself..might broaden your knowledge before you cast false accusations about on KZbin.

You need approval from Elstree aerodrome not the BBC 😅. The restriction isn’t there to protect the studios is it 😂

If it was so private, put the gates at the end of it and Block it all off, otherwise free public access, is implied.

Pretty sure if I was on set, doing a professional job, to a tight deadline, I wouldn't want some knob with a drone ruining my take for KZbin views. Authorisation or not, it's a bit of a dick move.

Would take away the "let's get a reaction" factor if you simply flew around the set without infringing airspace etc and DIDN'T engage the security people. If they decide to approach you then it doesn't come across as deliberately goading anyone.
@russjam12111 ай бұрын
But it's more courteous to tell them prior. not for a "let's get a reaction" but just to show you are not trying to be a problem. but you will find in some cases like this where you do get the occasional grumpy security guard that thinks they are covered by a restricted air zone or something that will try and get the police involved but the drone guy covered his rear by doing all due diligence first to make sure that he's legal. I bet the police were not even called as they knew he had permission and the BBC doesn't own the sky above their property so they just went back in and just "licked their wounds"

@@russjam121 if he wasn't trying to be a problem he would of stated from the Bat that he had approval to do so but he sat there arguing his point about how he can do whatever he wants, doesn't care if police get called, quite happy to waste the police time to come out to a pathetic drone call instead of dealing with actual crime..."oh i'll try and show you this" flashes some little text ONCE then refuses to show them again, then states how he only applied in the morning for approval an usually it takes days, so despite them saying yes we have the forms I don't think they said "yes we approve go ahead an fly your toy around" they were just confirming they had received his application... therefore he didn't have approval, also it would be in writing on an email that he has approval not just word of mouth about it was a "phone call".. the "i'll still take it up" regardless of being told no, just comes across as a self entitled bratt who was never told no as a child imo
