Thought: The optimism isn't actually what's killing the dark eldar, the "anti-suffering" he emits is just negating all the "negative" energy they use to continuously feed their souls in order to outpace Slaanesh, who is constantly devouring their souls all the time anyways. Since he is essentially negating all suffering and replacing it with pleasantness, Slaanesh is free to rapidly devour all their souls.
