This instantly made me realize why most of this album didn't click for me. The mixing is so muted and washed out and makes everything feel held back, there's no punch to anything. I pre-ordered this album, so maybe a little biased, but I digged the album, but there were times where it was kinda off, but there were times where they took chance at doing something they haven't done before on this album which is why I respect it, their best, hell no, that goes for vol 3. musically and the metal aspect is also really good imo, but bad? not for me, to the people that think .5 is better, more specifically stuff like devil in i and killpop, i don't have any words. But I was definitely happy to hear songs like warrenty, hivemind, chapletown rag (like I was super hyped), acidic, etc. all the songs were good, but these stand out. they definitely took more creative risks then they did on what ive heared on wanyk, which was most of the album, but I like that album as well.

Clean vocals sounded cheesy at times and the whole thing felt like it was following the same sort of rhythm to each other. Some songs had empty space which reminded of Gray Chapter and not in a good way. Also some wacky songs in there that didn't sound like slipknot imo, even Jim said this didn't feel like a slipknot album.

The newest 2 slipknot albums sadly are just nothing to me. Slipknot to me is 1999-2010, in all honesty I had a choice of seeing them at download this summer but when they’re only gunna play like 3 songs off Iowa and a couple from self titled it just doesn’t scream out to me. But this album was heavy as fuck, and had some serious personality to it. LOVED the way some of the songs were so unique. de sade, acidic, medicine for the dead are all contenders for there top 10 songs of all time, and absolutely nothing is gonna change my mind.
