AA with delayed fuse HE (Frag) works by denying space, basically. AA battery, when seeing flying enemy formation, works on a firing solution by finding out a point in space enemy will be in a certain amount of time. Such space has a certain area and attitude. Then fuse is being set to explode after a certain time (concidering that the speed of the shell is known, that translates to a certain attitude). Then the battery saturates space around the point we found earlier with HE shells that explode when reaching near that point. And scince by the time shells reach that, enemy formation is already there planes are being battered by shrapnel mostly. There is a WW2 instructions video on yt on how does the heavy AA work.

Two wacky US TDs I wish were in the game are the T56 and T57 GMCs. Which are prototype tank destroyers produced in September of 1942, both were based on an M3A3 Stuart chassis and were armed with the same 76mm gun as the M10 and it uses the same mounting as the T55E1. The T56 would later have a gun shield fitted to it, while the T57 was never fitted with one and used the same engine as the M3 Lee. Both were cancelled/abandoned in February of 1943.

But that is kinda accurate. They set the fuse once and the rounds get lobbed to the predetermined height (range), they wouldn't change it , and they didn't actually aim at a plane very often. Other flak batteries would be lobbing to different ranges, higher or lower, so the overall effect was a consistent "box" of flak bursts the planes had to fly through. Imagine a number 2 on the gun trying to adjust the range of every shell to counter the movement of a plane traveling north of 200 mph, 10-20,000 feet up.... it would be slow, clunky and ineffective, just as it is in game now. Quick reaction and adjusting of aim was done by the faster firing, smaller caliber flak guns These early timed fuzes are like the flamethrowers and dozer blades, useful tool IRL, but in-game just a gimmick that's not really effective.

You should do the „One in the Chamber“ challenge using the (finnish) Charioteer Mk. VII: For every target, you only get one shot. If you get a kill, you can go on to the next target. If you only get a crit or do nothing, you have to consider your gun empty and move to a predetermined area (e.g. a cap) to get your next shot. Of course this would be easy with APHE or big HE, thats why I said you should use the Charioteer (I didn’t want to go to evil on you, and the 20 pdr is actually quite potent). But if you want, you can of course use any other solid shot (or heat for that matter, if it’s small caliber it still won’t always oneshot if aimed incorrectly) vehicle (or you can use solid shot instead of a vehicles APHE).

6:50 HE (VT) works by rangefinding the target. Then you get *Fuze: [Distance]* which means it will explode at said distance. Can be funny if you can somehow Top-Attack Light tanks with that. Basically: Rangefind target, shoot towards target and HE will explode at the distance of the target.

It was a glass cannon for the br and at first German players had no idea that their ammo rack was in that box compartment so it was always easy to ammo rack them and this was a time before over pressure existed however it still worked for open tops and it was always a blast that knock one out with HE. From my memory it definitely got power crept because they added a lot more vehicles/nations when I returned.

I do remember playing the 8,8 cm one time a few years ago on the Maginot Line map. Hiding in the town, a PBY flew over and I just lobbed shell after shell. I finally had an APHE hit him in the wing and only got a "hit", felt good about that shot.

Just a little fun thing for the HE-TF shell. You have to rangefind either the plane or an object. The fuse will be set to that distance. That in return means that you can basically top-down attack open tops by simply rangefinding the rock they sit behind and shooting over said rock. The shell will explode over them and overpreassure them. You might wanna give that a shot.

I have seen exactly one tank die to a flamethrower. It was an M18, and it still managed to kill the Churchill. Please continue bringing fighters in your lineup. Keep setting a good example for your viewers.
