This is the most insano baseball in terms of local impact I can recall in my lifetime (I could be wrong, but I doubt it.) Not only have the Tigers pulled to a tie with the Twinkies, but they are 2 games behind the next higher team in the division, and the Twins self immolated their own dumpster to turn back into the Twinkies (serves them right for 1987!) Yeah, it's totally worth it no matter what happens next because, my goodness, the craziness and the fun have been at levels I haven't seen connects to the Tigers, in September, in years.

How can it not be worth it? Baseball is exciting locally for the first time in almost a decade. Edge of my seat every game. Followed every step of the Cle/Min game while at work. The concern that making the playoffs will give Illitch an excuse not to spend is interesting, but I just disagree. It should show him that this team's core is ready for additions. As Mike said to that one caller, if they don't spend this winter we can all go nuts, but for now I'm enjoying the hell out of this.

I haven't watched a ton of baseball since the early 2000s, but watching this so so fun. Skubal and a bunch of over achievers that believe in each other. Magical!

Not only is it worth it, the experience these young players get in a playoff chase is only going to help them in the future.

Definitely worth it these are our guys going forward meadows Greene carp vierling perez jung Sweeney colt tork rog Dillion there it is and then skub and all these random dudes in the pen. It’s important because like we expected this group when together and healthy can play a really good brand of baseball and that’s important going forward playoffs or not

Was the ride worth it when the lions didn't make the playoffs, when they went 9 and 7? Yes it's worth the ride, because success brings bigger expectations and bigger excitement and that's exactly what the tigers need. The lions needed more expectations and more excitement for the fans, the fans were ready for it, the fans packed out ford field for those playoff games, and it was excellent to see. I'd love to see the winning this year bring the tigers more expectations going into next year.

The little Caesars guy was stabbed by everyone on the team like the ides of march and then drank the blood. Other teams are probably talking about the tigers like the lannisters when they were reporting on robb stark: " after the slaughter of house royal the northmen feasted upon the flesh of the slain. Thousands of good men were butchered."

Nope, not worth it. We'd much rather go back to the dark days of Tiger Septembers, when they were so far behind by this time that it was more fun to mow your lawn than watch El Tigres help other teams pad their numbers. Come on, OF COURSE IT'S WORTH IT!!!!!!

As a Reds fan no I’d say a year after the fact it’s not worth it if you don’t make it. We were in this position last year and came up a game shy of the final playoff spot and then couple that with this season I would’ve rather ended my hopes in August last season because it made this season that much more infuriating.
