It just didnt get any better than Pontiac in the 1970s . Between the Trans Sm and the Can Am , these are my two favorite cars of the era . Beautiful job on the restoration!!!

Thanks for the great comment, Michael. You nailed it - it really is rolling history. Just wait until the episode where we meet and interview Jim Wagners! Talk about history!

As a kid I loved seeing this car when it came out . I still remember on a Tv show called Split Second a guy won one of these ! What a beauty.

Beautiful ! I met you at Fullerton airport Pontiac show I believe just after you finished the resto. My first job was in ‘77 working on cars and when I looked in the engine compartment and saw the “blue” nuts and bolts I knew this was QUALITY ! Fantastic that you got to meet Jim Wangers and have him sit in the car and sign the visor, what a life he had !

We were with Mike when he met Jim. Did you see that interview feature? Probably one of the last ones he gave. It was an honor and we all still talk about if a lot! I'll say thank you for watching and make sure Mike sees your comment!

I have not, but I’ll watch soon. I did get a picture with Jim during an open house at his shop and talked to him for a while

Very impressive as the kids' say Mad Skills coupled with time management that most could not replicate. I saw one of these back in the day, My sister purchased a 78 TransAm I liked this one a bit more but she wanted the big bird on the hood.

Thanks for watching one of our favorite features! You should see it in person! Mike is working on another project right now so stay tuned because, knowing Mike, it won't be long before it is ready for it's feature! Keep watching!

Did you know there is a FB page dedicated to them? Lots to see and if you're ever in the Phoenix Arizona area, we can set up a personal visitation with this particular stunning example!

I haven’t seen one of these in person since the late 80s or very early 90s. I’m originally from Pittsburgh and it used to sit on the West End on Steuben Street I believe. I seem to remember it was in fairly decent shape.

Congratulations. This is a very beautifully restored and desirable car. I did spot a few things that aren’t original. These didn’t come with a double hump crossmember or dual exhaust. Can’t fault you for improving the performance as I would do the same given the chance and opportunity to restore a beauty like this. The only other thing is the rally clock below the radio is missing. They all didn’t have them but if the tachometer gauge cluster is original it should have one. You’ve done an amazing job in restoring this car in 1 year. These aren’t the easiest cars to find parts for. Hope those beers quenched the thirst from all the had work you put in. The results speak for themselves. Outstanding.

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk Thank you. I sincerely hope he takes this gorgeous Can Am to the Pontiac Nationals. I plan on being there and will look for it there. I don’t remember seeing any there in the last few years. I’m sure it would be a big hit there.

He just took it to the one in Pigeon Forge, TN. a couple weeks ago and won first place in his class. He also took it to the Ames Performance Pontiac show last year and came home with a huge trophy! Which show do you mean? I think he's taking it to one in California in the fall as well. I'll see if he can let you know!

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk I’m from Pennsylvania and attend the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Guessing you guys are out west. I’ll be on the lookout for it should he decide to come east with it. Either way I can’t stress how much I respect the beautiful job he’s done with the Can Am and wish him well and hope he keeps it well and enjoys the fruits of his labor. I know I would. Excellent story in a job well done.

Mike, I did take it to the Pontiac Nationals in 2022 and it got many great reviews as well as winning Best in Class. There were 5 total best in class awards and mine was one of them. This was the first time I had entered it into any major show and was very excited to be given this award. It was also invited to show at MCACN in Chicago in 2022 and recently made the trip to Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge and took first place. Yes there are a couple of upgrades I made to the car as I never claimed that it was 100% original. The icing on the cake was when I took it to meet Jim Wangers and took him for a ride as this was a very special day for me that made this car a very special vehicle for me to own. Appreciate your comments on this and have a great day.

The only one we have seen prior to meeting Mike was many many years ago in the Denver area. They are extremely rare and yes, most have rusted away. Nice snag on the shaker though! Hope you had something cool to use it on! Thanks for watching and sharing your memory! Hope you are now a subscriber and find more fun features to enjoy!
