Vito’s time in service during WW2 voids his punishment for those first two years. His criminal “possessions of a firearm” wouldn’t count yet after that, at least until after his federal conviction for the gas stamps in which only then would he become listed like any other ex-con. The “unlawful possession of a large ammunition feeding device” also wouldn’t even be a criminal charge yet in the 1950s. Great video though. I’m very interested to see Lincoln Clay’s next.

Shore, there are ammo capacity restrictions in hunting laws saying you can't have more than 3 shells in your duck gun at the time. But it didn't mean it was illegal to have an extended mag or a firearm that can hold more than 12, 15, 20, or even 30-rounds. The only way vito would of been charged for having to much ammo in his gun in 51. Is if he went burd hunting with a 870 wingmaster (that he can some how cram 8 shells in a 4 round Magazines tube)and game worden bust him for not having a plug in it. In fact. I don't think magazine restriction laws whe know to day was not even cunseved of until the 1970s. To try and address a problem with cops getting out guned by criminals armed with weapons that can take 15, 20, 30-round mags. That was already common at the time and most police officers were still carrying 6 shot revolvers on their hips. In the US. The ban on so-called "high capacity Magazines" did not become law until the Clinton assault weapon ban of 1994. Baning the sails of guns and Magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammo to civilians. With the exception of law enforcement and granded fathered mags that was purhusted before the ban took effect. This ban lasted for 10 years. Sun setting in September or 2004, thankfully. It was a whater shed moment for gun rights with pintles arbitruary restrictions on law-abiding gun owners and had little to no effect on crime. And criminals was still getting a hold of illegal weapons with "high cap mags" from underground markets. New York didn't pass their own state laws on mag restrictions until the NY safe act in 2013. That also had restrictions of 10 round mags. Butthere'ss also some goofy thing you cant have more than 7 rounds in it that didgett suspended. On last thing to ad. The extended mag for the special 1911 looks to short to hold 23 rounds of .45acp. That has to be a 12 or 14 round extended mage. It would be more believable if the special 1911 was in the smaller.38super that there are extended mags that dose hold 23 round IRL.
