This animation immediately reminded me of the Netflix show (and also a film) called Hilda. It’s based off books of the same name, and it is an amazing series. The style is similar to the style in this animation, and I highly recommend watching the show. It’s very cleverly done and so I think (if you haven’t already seen it) you should check it out.

Dude if I ever had to sum up Evangelion in one sentence it would probably be "Trauma in anime form" I wish they put more into the lore department in its original show but it was great regardless.
