Yeah it's for me (although I've yet to go to a party at all), but as much as I'd loved to go I know that 1.I could regret this and wasted my time rather doing some more productive or more enjoyable. 2. I go and for once try to open up to someone only to make a fool of myself or possibly someone for not knowing how to respond or react "correctly" from what most socially active people would do. 3. "No thanks. I'd rather not just watch everyone else have a great time and live their fun lives as I just stare idly hoping maybe someone will be that one guy/girl to approach ME because otherwise I'll just chicken out." Again, I've never been to a party, so I've haven't a clue how parties work and only that I know there will be numerous obstacles and a variety of diverse people/characters at the party.

What people don't understand is that it all depends on how you respond. If your friend throws a party and you say, "I don't want to go." There is an implied reason. "I don't want to go to YOUR party." Is how it most often sounds. And people who do that are jerks. However if you don't have a real excuse you can say,"I'm not feeling up to it." Or "I'd rather just relax." Or at least tell them why. People always have a reason why they won't. So if your honest and tell them in a nice way and don't lie, cover up, or snap at them it will all work out and no body will get hurt.

I'm kinda torn on this. I also feel like it is rude, however I do get the parallels to consent. However, I think saying "I'm not feeling like partying" would be a very valid excuse which isn't really that much different. So I guess it's okay. yeah because if one thought that friend A (who is hosting the party) has fun parties and was interesting, then why wouldn't one want to go? It's either that you are busy, don't like friend A, don't like friend A's Parties, or are too lazy/have better things to do. Quinta didn't have any other plans so she probably unconsciously thinks it's a waste of time, doesn't want to hang out with Justin, or isn't in the mood for partying. The answer to a question of why not can't just be why not, often times not even the person his/her self knows because most of it is unrealized feelings.

I love how it puts these circumstances into perspective - there's always an underlying expectancy to justify why you don't want to go to something, and most of the time it's expected that you have previously planned something else or have something more important to replace it with, rather than something for yourself/ your wants/needs (and people get so upset/offended when you do justify it with something for yourself!). i dont know why when people invite someone it's a "i invited you so you have to come" kinda thing and if they didnt attend it upsets them and they get sensitive about it !!! like if i dont want to go then i dont !!! i didint say i dislike you i just dont want to attend i dont think it obligatory to give a VALID reason... do i have to make up an excuse if my reason is not valid ? maybe i just want to chill at home and read a book or i dont like parties in general or whatever i dont have to tell you my plans but if i did then thats that even if it's just chilling and im totally free have nothing to do i dont want to attend it's nothing personal but people take it personally if you turn down their invitations !!!! -.-
