One of the easiest ways to go about it is to automate a certain percentage of the income to be moved from your chequing account into your savings account or investment account. Make this account inaccessible. You can’t spend the money you have access to. You can start with 10% of your monthly salary. That comes down to 36k per year. You can use that for some business or investment. And work on having some thick skin to protect yourself against people who would manipulate you to feel guilty and give out your money.
