You don't pronounce native name in English way. Trying to show that you have accent should be separated from native names pronunciation. The masquerade and the Bild is a symbol of Benin people kingdom and not Edo state. Esan not eson as you are pronouncing. Esan people also have their own symbols that is not recognized in Benin. The real meaning of Edo are the Benins, the language spoken in Benin is called Edo language. Esan speaks esan edo speak edo.
