Good lawd! Nobody cares how hard you worked. If it matters to you then do the extra but understand you might not have to. Several years ago I worked for an ag air firm (crop duster) that was purchased by a new owner. On on one job he caused me to lay out (move) the chemicals three times on one job. The original owner of the firm would always think thrice and act once. He would bring the conveyance (truck) to the exact location where the helicopter would land allowing me to do the least amount of work for the same result. This extended to pointing the vehicles in the most efficient direction. Perhaps doing the extra cardio work in the first example provided some physical benefit but let me tell ya I was over 60 years of age and over tired for the result. No, you couldn't tell the new owner much of anything. By all means give the customer value. Have integrity, have character, there's too little of it in this world. But think thrice and do it once. Work smart, not hard. Think about it... then act. Ready...Aim...Shoot, not the other way round. Did you ever think there might not be any training benefit of running 5.5 miles as opposed to 5? There has been plenty of research indicating a little less might be more for casual training. At the very least you're raising smart(er) kids.
