Could you explain why you wouldn't want to destroy a title to manage succession? It obviously doesn't make sense with confederate partition, the titles will just be recreated upon succession, but with Partition and High partition, wouldn't it make sense to just not create the titles, instead of disinheriting your heirs for valuable renown? Or how else do you deal with succession?

i had an ironman save before around version 1.5 or maybe 1.4 that was meant to achieve the Lingua Franca achievement. It was basically world conquer and i had a war that was 500k vs 700k. I wish i have known you at that time i could have sent you the save file.

It is actually a strategic move that I sometimes do to destroy titles in the late game, when your gold is piling up to five digits. Because then prestige is way more important than gold, and during succession you want your successor to be liked more by your vassals, and fame level gives opinion bonus. Before you die, your living legend emperor might have so much prestige that he couldn't spend. Just destroy all your kingdom and empire titles(except for your primary title ofc) and as soon as you die just make those titles, and you'd be set for the new character.

The key is to keep 2 duchies in which you hold every county. If you can revoke titles and squash any potential usurpers before they team up. Then by installing your own people as Dukes they control the interior allowing you to focus on expansion

Dude I feel ya. This was a super-intimidating game to attempt to start because I'd seen so many videos of people playing CK2 (before CK3 was released). I finally picked up the game from Steam, fired it up, and made sure I had an entire weekend to kill. I was ready. I was prepared to spend time learning. So I did. ...this was the first game I played in my life where I literally did not stop playing to go to sleep. I literally played for just above 27 hours straight, stopping only to go to the bathroom. I was so engrossed in learning on turbo and finding out so many things. I was hooked. I actually began to LIKE learning more about how to properly play. Now after over 1,200 hours of gameplay, I'm as good as Ottawa (if not heavily more meticulous and thorough). I watch his videos and smile at knowing what he's up to and cheering him on as he plays. If you put the time in and you actually *_want_* to learn how to play, you'll be a pro in no time at all.

In my current game I actually cheesed a bit and got some mines in Europe as soon as I could. Cagliari's fine because it's relatively safe, but Gottingen-Germany (Goslar barony) has a +5 base mine and he already had it in the realm. There's also a +3 one in Caslav-Bohemia, +3 in Inssbrook-Bavaria, +3 Trencin-Moravia and honestly a bunch of others. Plus some counties have Special buildings and most of them at least deserve getting in the realm as they incline to give more than just bonuses to the owner. *don't blindly start going for all of these counties, have a look at what the damn AI did already. Some of them might already have a non-Castle holding on that special building slot and you won't be able to own it directly. also as a side note, buying claims is absolutely stupidly OP later in the game

One reason to consider destroying a title is if you want the vassals under the title but can't hold too many dutchy titles. I usually try my hardest to keep as many vassals under me as possible because it gives you more knights and a larger pool of people to choose for a council position.

Hey Ottawa, I have been playing as the Haesteinn’s and doing achievements, I started by going for the “Elevate the Kingdom of Mann and the Isles” decision then went for the “King of All the Isles” and “Faster than the Fox” achievements. I am now going for the High Kingdom of the North Sea decision and achievement and then aspire to get the achievement for holding the Kingdom of Thessaloniki as a North Germanic Asatru. My issue is I have to hold the three titles of Norway, Denmark, and England for 30 years without my Norse culture getting into the High Medieval technological era. My previous ruler died with 3 years of holding left, so I have about 14/15 years of holding to go, but my culture screen says it is going to unlock High Medieval in 12 years despite the fact I am still missing many of the Early Medieval innovations. Do I have to switch cultures? If possible I would like to stay Norse and eventually hybridize with the Cretan culture..

@@KushGee Might be easier to just send you my save file.. I’m playing in the early 1100s because King of all the Isles took me a bit longer than expected. I set my capital to Gibraltar so I could get the diplomatic range to conquer the Canaries and to get the “Fate of Iberia” DLC’s dynasty legacy that gives extra development growth for each city in a county. Holding titles adjacent to Andalusia’s capital Cordoba and Rome skyrocketed the development in those areas as well.

Amazing video as always, but.. How exactly can one attack the Byzantines... You literally have to declare war county by county, or if you are lucky a kingdom. And at best you'll just get vassals too strong to handle. Can anybody give me tips on that?

Hard Mode 1. Murder Byzantine emperors until a faction rises up (independence or dissolution. 2. Declare war and decimate the Imperial forces (doesn't matter if you lose this war, just kill troops so the faction wins) 3. Eat up the now smaller independent kingdoms and get duke vassals 4. Every time you subjugate a new kingdom, revoke everyone's titles to start another war, then give the territory to a child or grandchild (underage is better, cant join factions) Easy Mode 1. Join Crusade 2. Redirect to Constantinople 3. Suicide MAA and levies into their stack and use a small for of siege and levies to take distant holding to get highest war score. 4. Your beneficiary now owns a kingdom, can be your ally, and will help destroy the remnants of the Byzantines
