Bruchladdich is a personal favorite when it comes to whisky, and I've been very lucky to try many of their expressions and versions of their products, including some of the older and more rare varieties. Port Charlotte & Laddie are great daily sippers with Octomore & Black Art being fantastic for special occasions. Some of my favorites have been their peated varieties finished in sherry casks.

Bruichladdich is my absolute favorite line of scotch. Classic Laddie is my go to daily sipper and Black Art is my special occasion choice. It helps it is not overly popular and the prices stay down unlike Lagavilin or Ardbeg.

Classic Laddie is so good. I love that it’s a affordable-ish, $60 where I live which is the same price as Highland Park 12, and the the Sherry butts are well integrated.

That is probably going to be one of the next bottles of whiskey I need to hunt for when I finish off one of my bourbons. Currently have 6 scotches and looking to expand my appreciation for them beyond Ardbeg Wee Beastie, Oban Little Bay, Glennfiddich 14, Dalmore 12 and Balvenie 12 DoubleWood. Still have yet to open my Highland Park 12 and try it.

It’s a great way to try a lot of different whiskeys. I’m excited for this one.

The guy with glasses and blue dress shirt is the guy I want to hang out with. He’s taking it seriously but not being snobby. I think the cost of the whisk(e)y is how it was made. The more time a whisk(e)y ages, the more time it sits around the less of the product they have. It’s why a 50yr Scotch can cost thousands of dollars. Also, the longer you ferment, the more complex it will be and the more time it will take to distill the whisk(e)y. Brianna must want to be a comedian, or doing weed. She all over the places in the videos. I love it.

Bang for the buck: y’all turned me on to teachers highland cream. That’s my go-to flask whiskey because I don’t want to put anything too nice into a flask for sitting around a fire. At home when I can enjoy a poor a little more fully, I love Scarabus cask strength. It’s a total wine house brand (I suspect it’s Caol Ila, but can’t confirm) that for the price is absolutely delightful. An amazing balance of smoke and fruit.

Best bang for your buck Scotch in my area (Denver) right now is between Highland Park 12 and Laphroaig 10 at about $45, but Port Charlotte 10 is definitely up there. It's gone up recently to about $80 here from $65 a year ago, though, which is unfortunate. It's really an excellent whiskey for the price range. Same story with Ledaig 10, which is one of my longtime favourites.

So for me a bang for your buck is Glen Moray Elgin Classic. It’s often on the “crowd pleasers” feature shelves of bottle shops here and I think that’s mostly because it’s bloody cheap but has enough going on for people to think there’s depth to talk about; but I genuinely don’t know enough about the brand I could just drink it all day (responsibly)

The one I was most excited about trying from the tasting notes was Black Arts, but I think that's out of my price range 😅 Don't know if it counts as bang for your buck, but my favorite scotch is Oban and it's usually around $80 so not too expensive. If you really want to go hard on the savings, the Costco Kirkland 12-year scotch is serviceable and cheap as hell.

As someone who started their peat journey with Ardbeg Oogie, I don't know if pointing someone to Port Charlotte is the best way to go when unraveling the complexity of a distilleries profile such as Bruichladdich. I feel like their Classic Laddie (keeping in mind that I worked backwards starting with extreme peat to little peat) is a much better "pleasure to meet you, my name is Bruich" than something as hammer-over-the-head-y as Port Charlotte. No need to throw a no0b into the deep end.
