Namaste and OM NAMAHA SHIVAYA I was 19 years old when I first read in a small Yoga book about Lord Shiva and I immediately fell in love with him. 5 years later I met an Indian Yogi in Germany. I spent 11 days with him and he told me that he is not my Guru and I won't have an embodied Guru. I then declared that Lord Shiva himself is my Guru and it hasn't changed for the last 34 years and he was always with(in) me! The Satguru within each of us!

Times have changed you may not need a Guru. Just do Basic Meditation and it all comes to you anyways. Your Basic Meditation prepares you for your meeting. It's nice to be prepared so you can fast track your teachings with your Guru. I recommend just simple Zen Meditation style to clear the preconceived notions about spiritual stuff. After all a empty mind is ready to be filled. Knowing my time to leave the Guru is just as valuable of a teaching. All good things come to there appointed end, then you have to live the teaching that work for you. Ultimately You are the source, so.... Do you really need a system to uncover yourself.... Are you really ignoring all your feelings and thoughts. Can you not see your own divinity.... Then maybe its true you need to find the familare face to reflect your inner teacher.

Dear Dr. Robert! Could you please explain: Vyasadeva wrote Mahabharata which you mentioned here in recommends to focus on Krishna or Narayana. You and a lot of gurus say to focus on Lord Shiva! In Tripura Rahasya Dattatreya asks his disciple to firstly focus and serve Shrimaty Tripurasundary and after enlightenment dawned on this disciple he told him impersonal theory how to reach Brahman. What is interesting: Dattatreya is incarnation of Lord Visnu and Vyasadeva is who wrote Mahabharata (and Bhagavad Gita as part of it) and Bhagavata purana - where the way of Bhakti to Lord Narayana is given as the best way for the soul…. Dear Dr. Robert, could you please answer what is the best way - impersonal (as Dattatreya taught) or Bhakti?

Bhakti is the recommended form of worship by most in the kali yuga, but your personal practice will be up to you

My good friend, Gayatri is the Chandass or the rhythmic meter of the mantra. You're probably referring to the Surya Gayatri Mantra which is an invocation of Savitur, the Sun God.

@@KasDlonewolf I am assuming whoever reads my comment knows I was talking about Savitur Gayatri and sung in the proper meter. Lakshmi Gayatri is also great for material prosperity if you have the time. Not everyone knows these things however.

@@shivaayrudra2196 Vimilanada did not write books. Dr. Robert did reflecting on his experiences with him. Savitur Gayatri will give you divine insight but you should be initiated into it by a Brahman. I only chant the Maha Mantra these days as Sanskrit mantras without initiation can be dangerous.

Thank you, spiritual son of Vimalananda, i was concerned about lacking a guru. It still continues to worry me though, until i get one, I’m dissatisfied- and that too i need a best one. I might do whatever you suggested here, let’s see how it goes. And hey, Vimalanda would really not like if he sees you selling your knowledge for subscriptions, so do it only if it is necessary. Shiva’s guru form is Dhakshinamoorthy, cheak that out and when you visit pollachi, go to famous hanuman temple there, the one attached to a river, it is said that Sri Rama kept his foot there while going to Lanka, you will find a statue of Rama’s feet there. Try also to access Maa Tara, she might pay attention to you faster than any other deities, she is connected to the Graha jupiter, which is why Vimala nanda was full of knowledge. Plus, you are a Rakshasha gana, so will be good with rituals naturally, so go for it ( try to connect with Siva and Shakti more, rakshasha ganas can connect well with them. You can do well with Hanuman too, because he have the amsha of Siva in him ) Shiva Shiva
