Last September I spent 2 weeks in Houston with the Red Cross working Disaster Health, as a Firefighter EMT back home in Kentucky I’m used to seeing people having their worst day but the enthusiasm Texans have is so contagious I talked my wife into going back this year for our anniversary. Will not be last time going to Texas. God Bless Texas and.... Kentucky.

For those of you who are not familiar with Texas, allow me to give you a few tips. ( By the way, I have lived all over the U.S. and abroad.) Most Texans are friendly people. If you are polite (good manners) and respectful, you shouldn't have any problems in TEXAS. Throughout most of the state, it will help you to address a person as "sir" or "ma'am," especially if you don''t know the person well and/or it is an elderly person. It's our custom here. Texans can be your best friend or your worst enemy....LOL....your choice. (You will get back what you give out.) We are extremely proud of our beloved TEXAS. You will see TEXAS flags everywhere you go. Just remember: Be nice and Don't Mess with TEXAS!! You have been duly warned. Now, Y'All have a good day!

It's unlAWFUL to litter. Don't Mess With Texas ex-military....been around myself. I can't recall any other state as stern or proud of their land. While I may no longer reside there. My ideology and my heart is still very much Texan and will always be. I will stop a person dead in their tracks if i ever hear one bad word about Texas. It is quickly followed by a history lesson. Texas is the real Republic!
@texasson79507 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and support for Texas! See, it's not all that bad, is it? Having lived all over the U.S. myself, I must say that Texas takes the cake when it comes to state pride. Texans are not shy about displaying it, either. I always tried to tone it down when I was in a "foreign land" = another state. I guess that comes from the fact that our state originally came from a republic that was established from a war of independence with Mexico. Texas was its own republic for about 10 years. Texans have a very independent streak in them. We promote our love of Texas with our flag, pledge to the Texas flag (in schools) and our state anthem. You can find them on You Tube. I am glad you had a positive experience in Texas. Please feel free to return to the Republic anytime. I will make you an honorary citizen, sir!

She said "Yeah, I'm just sittin here tryin to figure you out!".... I said "figure me out? What do you mean?"... She said "Well, I'm from TEXAS and I've been sittin here listening to you talk and you use a lot of Southern dialect but you got a YANKEE accent!.... How does that happen?"..... I kinda chuckled and said "Well ma'am... My Mother's family is from Kentucky and my Dad's family is from Michigan. Not to mention, they both LOVE music...... If you came home with me you could hear Little Richard and Chuck Berry or you could hear Haggard , Jones or Hank Sr.... just depends on which end of the house yer standin' in.... plain n' simple.... I'M A HALF BREED!".... She got a kick out of that, lol

Look at him when he's sitting in his clean truck interior, in his clean clothes. Probably walks out of the house specifically to film these videos, then goes back inside and thinks about going to Starbucks or play golf or whatever the city folks do in their spare time. I may be from Illinois, but I've helped herd cattle, I've hauled hay, I've shot hoops on the side of the barn, I've stepped in cow patties in bare feet. Guarantee Chad ain't ever done any of those things. But people act like he's more of a country boy than I am, because he's in TEXAS.

I'm from Georgia, born in Arkansas, and I've always loved Texans. They are the most genuine people I've ever met. The food is out of this word and their hospitality is state of the art. My only reason for not moving there is because it's flat and I find mountains and hills aesthetically stimulating. The majority of Texas reminds me of Savannah, where it's one elevation as far as the eye can see. Other than that, Texas seems like a wonderful State.

Hello Chad. I came across your rant regarding folks getting offended by our accent, being the video of the millisecond as I was entering youtube for my lunch time entertainment as I do most days. I am a 55 year old Texan man that has been in New Zealand for the last 15+ years. When I first heard of New Zealand, I naturally asked "Where in Texas is that?" Not that i belive Texas is the biggest place on earth but you'd have to go "a fur piece" to find out different. I sometimes get a bit of agro over calling a lady "Ma'am" and i just say it was how I was raised and when I see it has genuinely offended someone I apologise but I have also made it clear that i wont stop doing it because it it part of who I am and am quite proud of it. I work for the phone company that is "the othern" and not the big red circle. If folks don't like the way we speak or where we live then there is a place or two they can go instead and leave us "hicks" alone. But for the friendly ones, "ya'll come back now, y'hear?" And lastly I'm gonna subscribe and leave you with a HELL YEAH!

I (reluctantly) moved out of Alaska several years ago because of job reorganization. And I can't resist adding an Alaskan "joke". If Alaska was split in half Texas would be the third largest state. Everyone has an "accent", with respect to someone else. To my French ears, the Texas prosody is cute. My ears grate when I hear the French Canadian accent, but I know it's me, not them. French Canadians speak a version of French derived from the time their ancestors started emigrating to Canada at the time of King Louis XV. Therefore, you could say that their French is more French than the French currently spoken in France.

I've been to Texas twice in my life. The first time I was ten and we just drove through. The last time was about a month ago. I tell you what! I wish I could have stayed! Never in my life did I feel so completely happy! I don't know if it's possible but I think I'm home sick. I wish I was born in Texas ❤️️❤️️❤️️

Pro's: Bass fishing, hunting and BBQs. Con's: Boots and cowboy hats are NOT suitable for every occasion, oversized belt buckles are ridiculous and wearing your jeans so tight, you have a camel toe (guys and gals).

they always complain about how flat Texas is . well in my neighborhood inside the city limits of Lubbock Texas is a 50 foot drop down into a small canyon . Run go down there once your at the bottom look up and see how flat it is there . climb out and if your sweating and tired from your climb i don't want to hear how flat it was ...lol we had fun sliding down the sides when it snows . yes it snows here too.

I grew up in SC and also...."got here as quick as I could". Came here for a 4 day business conference and stayed 8 weeks. Went back to SC and sold or gave away everything and headed back to TX. Being a southern belle who just loves the Carolinas', I knew Texas would forever be home when a native Texan asked me where I was from. I replied, "The South.....SC." He answered back, "Darling this IS the South." And when a young cowboy (hat, jeans and boots) the age of my young adult sons opened a door for me and stood there waiting for me to get to it, I was all smiles. "Thank you kindly," I said, to which he responded, "You're welcome sweetheart." Man I just love it here!!

If you close your eyes when u go in , and listen real hard , u can hear the rattle of muskets , the cries of the dying , smell the gunpowder ......... Thank you Texas !!!

I'm surprised that Austin is the state capital. I always thought Dallas was. Austin is super-leftist Liberal. Not a true representation of TX. I'm actually a liberal myself so no disrespect, but I was just commenting.

Austin is a great representation of texas, If the rest of the state was more in line with austin everyone would want to live in texas, guaranteed. and texas has only had shitty right wing christian extremist politicians (i.e. ted cruz) in the most recent decades, the civil rights act was signed into law by a texan president who also happened to be a democrat
@CRanger1117 жыл бұрын
Austin, for the most part, is extremely liberal. So, I don't think it is a great representation of Texas. I have nothing against the city. I'm just talking demographic wise, it doesn't really align with the general Texas demographic.
