Timex was my first "real" watch as a kid in the 70's. I'm happy to see them make a strong comeback!

My grandfather died in 1981. He was an artist and had made a metal band for a watch. The band was attached to a 1977 automatic timex. The watch has been in a safety deposit box since 1981. My mom got all the contents of the box and I got the watch. Wound it a little, put it on, and have been wearing it for the past three days and it keeps good time and keeps running over night. Not too shabby for something that hasn’t been running for 42 years.

I agree with you, Timex is on a roll. My first watch was a mechanical Timex from the late 1960s. I now have a large collection which includes two Rolexes, but I am wearing and enjoying my Timex Pepsi Q today. Also enjoy wearing my Marlin hand wound, it reminds me of the Mad Men era every time I look at it.

recently got the expedition north solar. stainless steel, sapphire crystal, 100 mt water resistant, no need to change the battery. Great solid watch overall!

Since so many people’s first watch was a Timex, the potential love for the brand is huge. They’re defo going in the right direction now and with none of the polarising brand baggage of…er…for example…TAG…if Timex can keep producing cool, interesting designs they can go from strength to strength.

My only problem with timex is the price. Casio watches are dirt cheap and fun in the same way as timex but for 1/4 the price.

I have a few Timexes in my poor man's collection. I love 'em. They're cheap, stylish, decently built for the $$$. Plus, the brass cases are really light. My new field watch is a Timex Expedition Snoopy limited edition. It's a conversation starter around the camp or on the trail. With Indeglo, I always know exactly what time it is---even after the lume has died on my buddy's TAG. LOL

I’ve had my Timex expedition chronograph TW4B12300 (that you reviewed) for about two years.

I received a typical "We noticed you saw our watch in our site" email regarding chronographs, I didn't care much but then I saw this picture in the same email showing off this black dial Timex diver I never seen before in someone's palm. It was almost love at first sight and immediately went for the Timex site again. Found out that Timex released a brand new automatic diver aka the black/green Waterbury mentioned here in the video.

Totally agree! Timex is making A strong comeback, and I recently purchased their Tide-Temp-Compass, SAPPHIRE, Indiglo, and super cool. Comes in black with blue/orange temp scales, or green, but I got the black. $249, and get a 15% coupon. Killer deal!

Well damn. I guess I’m an idiot. I tried to do Timex and each watch I purchased (roughly 4) quickly panned out to be junk. I have no faith in their products. With their prices in the $200-300 range, I’d rather put that money into a Seiko or Citizen.

I freaking love Timex. Indiglo was one of my favorite features. I also had the Timex Datalink which is probably the first smartwatch. It transferred data by reading a CRT screen

Timex uses mostly miyota movement which you didn't talk much about and the quality of the watches are iffy. Their in house movements are not easily serviceable and are made to be disposal. Might as well buy Chinese homage watches which use seiko nh35 movements with sapphire crystal which gives more bang for the buck than a Timex. Therefore, am not surprised why Timex was ignored by collectors except idiots. And timex were idiots most of the decades offering battery watches instead of solar ones. Timex is no match for Casio or citizen.

My grandpa used Timex, to which I use one that looks the same and never have let me down. I knew some folks (Toolmakers) that used to work in one of the original manufacturing companies in Waterbury / Middlebury, CT. Waterbury watches are just simple, inexpensive and get the job done. I love Timex! 👍👍

My father was a practical man. He wore a watch every day. He saw no sense in spending any more than necessary to know the time. So, he always wore Timex. Throughout my youth, I did, too. Indeed, my beater is a Timex.

I have well over 100 watches from many brands from many states and countries. Timex has always been my favorite brand. I wish they'd expand their American Made line up but maybe someday.

Timexs indigo is hands down the best lighting in the watch game period. And different colors. My expedition is green light but my supernova is blue. Absolutely the best

A lot of kids of a certain age had timex watches growing up. I had a digital huckleberry hound fishing game one & blue snoopy watch as a kid & currently own 4,a Waterbury,a Waterbury automatic,a marlin automatic & a scout expedition.

As cool as the G-Shocks are the Ironman and Expedition watches are just easier to read and that's ultimately why they win out.
