For those who have Amazon Prime, keep an eye out for the Prime day specials. You can add AMC+ (which includes Shudder), Paramount+, Showtime, Starz (underrated for movies), etc. for 99¢ a month for 2 months. Usually run this special twice a year. I always add them for 2 months to catch up on series / movies and then cancel before they revert to the full monthly price.

Thank you for another great list Darren! A friend of mine works for a company that acquires streaming rights and licenses them to streaming services, he says the powers that be want a lot of competing streaming services. For a few years you could get by with just Netflix and there wasn't much competition. Now Netflix has a weaker selection from month to month and the price keeps going up, while Tubi seems to have a better selection every month.

TUBI is one of my favorites. FilmRise, FreeVee and Plex are also free and they are all amazing. :) I just found Plex the other day and the first movie I watched was, Silent Rage. That's a 1980's Chuck Norris movie, and probably the creepiest movie he ever made.

Listen people for the price of $200 to $300 you can get S2 no voice control or S3 super box with voice control. It is a one-time payment with free streaming service. I haven't paid for cable or a streaming service and I get all of their content, for $0 a month. Oh yeah that's got over 2,000 channels of live television in English.

Great show with lots of Great recommendations. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Prime, which I have, often offers other Premium Channels (Showtime, Starz, AMC+, Paramount +, etc.) for $.99 a month for two months. I almost always have at least one of these going. I watch everything I want, then cancel. So, the cost is, to say the least, minimal. Of course, they must be watched through Prime. And as you said, with Prime you get Free Shipping and some other bonuses besides Prime Video. Also, Prime has the best original action series, hands down---Jack Ryan, Reacher, Hanna, Bosch, and more. And some of the best original movies and series. So for me, Prime is the best value. I pay by the year which also saves money. I'm not associated with Amazon in any way, so this is just my honest opinion. Again, I watch all your "lists", and I often use that to record shows. Thanks for all your good work. 😊😊

They have good prices on new books, kitchen stuff, certain electronics. Most other things are cheaper elsewhere. You get free shipping by putting $25+ into your cart without Prime. Prime Video is worth $9 though.

I've become a fan of Pluto, mostly for their single-show channels. Great for putting on a favourite show you mostly already know in the background while doing other stuff around the house. Commercials aren't bad, though if trying to watch one of the "On Demand" offerings, I've sometimes found them to be short but too often.

I love Netflix and Hulu. I like Prime but it irritates me that I pay monthly for it and still have to pay to watch movies that are 20 years old. Prime is a money grab with series shows too. Get the first season with subscription but then forced to pay for the rest of the seasons 🙄

HBO MAX is free with AT&T services. Plus you can freeload a streaming service from someone else and save. We have HBO max free, Paramount plus from my mom‘s account, Netflix from my wife’s mom’s account and Prime because we have their Prime service. We are definitely paying less than cable, satellite or dish!

A couple of tips. If you're on Disability,Social Security or something along those lines Amazon has a discounted Prime rate. I found out from a friend a couple years ago. All you have to do is contact customer service and ask about their discounted low income rate. It was $6.99/month,but recently went up to $7.41. Either way it's better than the $99-$100 they charge yearly. And you get all the benefits of a Prime membership. Plus there are discounted rates to add Paramount + ,AMC + ,etc. And Prime movies now includes Freevee. Also either through Hulu or Disney+ you can do a package deal and get both plus ESPN sports. So you only have one bill per month. And you can add HBO,STARZ,Cinemax and Showtime(prices vary,but it's cheaper than cable). I don't have exact pricing on all this,but a little surfing/researching and you should find the info pretty easy. Hope this helps.

I used to own my DVDs and see my movies when ever i feel like. Not you don't own the content and you have no warranty they will be available, they tend to remove shows and movies... Netflix although they claim to have a large library.. most of the movies i search for.. they are not available even old ones.. Netflix is frustrating..

Paramount plus has commercials or you can pay for no commercials the same thing with peacock which I find to be very good. Amazon prime is the only streaming service that helps people that are on any kind of government assistance which is anything from retired social security to medical assistance they will help you out on the price which is very cheap for the whole membership not just the streaming service. Another streaming service that I think is very very good is AMC Plus because you have AMC shutter Sundance and a few other ones for a low price and a lot of content.

I’ve been thinking about switching from Netflix streaming (9.99) to HBO for a long time but have been reluctant to pull the trigger because I’m one of the few to still have Netflix DVD and a lot of what HBO has I can get on Netflix DVD but … with the state of the USPS being what it is my flow of DVDs has slowed down to a snail’s pace and currently I am finding more movies I want to watch on Tubi than on Netflix streaming. Netflix steaming needs to put more money into renting quality movies that aren’t shop worn and less into making its own content which for the most part is “made for TV” quality, so it’s become time to pull the trigger and switch from Netflix streaming (9.99) to HBO.

More of a movie fan. I subscribe to Criterion ($90/year), kanopy (free with your local library card), Filmatique ($2.48/month), and KZbin premium. The most interesting movies I've watched in the last 6 months have been on kanopy. Oh and prime video - because it's included; I live in the sticks and don't want to drive 30 miles to buy things most of the time. You are absolutely right about the interface. It is like walking into a library and finding hundreds of piles of unlabeled, unordered books.

I love this channel. I live in the UK and even if the recommendations for what is currently available on streaming platforms aren't always applicable elsewhere in the world, the recommendations themselves are always superb/excellent/top/perfect/chef's-kiss. The most interesting thing here was the difference in prices paid for streaming prices. The disparity is fascinating. I'm paying less for Prime and (cheapest price) Netflix, but from a rough, fast and probably useless comparison I think I have access to a wider library. I'm probably wrong on this because I haven't done proper due diligence, but this vid was absolutely fascinating anyway.

What's your opinion on Epix NOW? They used to have a similar volume of movies to Tubi. Also, Prime membership is cheaper if you're a student, senior or on a budget (food stamps). Plus, if Starz includes their old Encore selections in the app, their choices will rival Tubi or Epix.

For me right now the main reason I am hanging on to Netflix is because of their Korean and Japanese content. I don’t think any of the others come close to them for that. I find that TUBI is good with a lot of foreign content and free , of course there are lots of crap grade F movies but some as you say hidden gems, ads are not bad on it either.

Two things: 1} If someone is adding Disney and Hulu, do the Package. You get Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ for LESS than subscribing to Hulu & Disney+ separately, and also ESPN+ is there for sports fans. I've had people say "I am not really into sports enough to need ESPN+." My response is "Are you into saving money?" Because you not have to watch ESPN+ since it is "FREE" with the Package. And you are still saving on Hulu & Disney+ versus paying for them separately. 2} Tubi is literally the best "deal" for the free services. The commercials are VERY unobtrusive. Often, the "Ad break in..." countdown will pop up and when it hits zero, there will not even be a commercial break. I feel like there are LESS commercial interruptions than Hulu, which you pay for!

Starz is Underrated...Sparticus, Black Sails, Power Universe and most slept on...The Princess Series...all of those are top notch. Watch the basis of the feel and tone of GOT with the story of the War of The Roses done very well In the Princess Saga.

I agree with your comments, however, it would kill me to let go of Netflix since I have fallen in love with some of their series. I love horror and was tempted by Shudder, but their lack of good stuff just didn't make sense. I do use Amazon's Prime Video, but use it for shopping so yes, it does pay for itself. I would love to cut some of the services I pay for, however many of them have one or two shows that are really good. Since I am retired and waiting for death, LOL, movies, and shows have become my spiritual fidget spinner. Pirated programs on foreign websites aren't really worth the hassle, I don't do that anymore. If you don't mind reading subtitles, MHz Choice is for you. It's like $8.99 a month and features great European TV series, mostly crime shows. If you enjoy Scandinavian crime books, then see how they portray Martin Beck and Wallander for a TV audience. Simenon fans will love the French treatment of Maigret - 9 seasons worth - which might be the best detective series ever on TV. Italians will of course enjoy Detective Montalbano from Sicily. But overall, the German TV crime series top them all. Etc. Etc. Expand your pleasure zone folks. There's a whole world out there, though this streaming service is Euro only.

I’ve been thinking about canceling Netflix because they cancel shows I like after 1 season and they seem to keep recommending me a bunch of movies and shows from India. Apple TV is ok but they take YEARS for new seasons to come out. One of those sites you can pay for 3 months then cancel and pay for again after 2-3 years. I watched the Baz film and it really affected me emotionally. Elvis to me is an anomaly. The poor lad. Died so young and I fell for all the bollox that he dies from eating too many burgers. SHAME ON ME. I am still reeling from the story of his life. I liked "Prey" too. I could see the inbetween and thought it was a good flick. Why am I writing this ? Because 2 days later I am still thinking of Elvis. Broke my heart to see it unfold. Back to watching you now 🥰🤗 In a day or two, I will watch Elvis again. Perhaps a week, I am still sad 🤗🤗🤗

I’m subscribed to many of these . HBO max is great but One of my favorite is ACORN TV. I like foreign movies /shows , British , Australian and Canadian .and ACORN TV it’s mostly that . Thank you for your suggestion

I'm a huge horror buff but yet I do not have shudder anymore. They just didn't add new content frequently enough to make the value worth it. While they do have an extensive library of horror movies, they're all gems and caught classics that real horror fans have already seen multiple times or already own a physical copy to watch at their disposal. So it's one of those services where I'll renew my subscription and keep it for a month or two just to catch up on any original content or new selections added and then cancel the service again.

Darren, I am not sure why you did not include TeaTV, but maybe it is because they give you the option of different links to choose from, or because some of the video is less than up to par. Right now some of the movie content includes Samaritan, Jurassic World Dominion, Day Shift, and Me Time. Some of the TV Series include She Hulk, The Sandman, Tales of The Walking Dead, See, and Darna. Last night I watched Prey, and with the first link I clicked on I saw this movie in really great video and audio quality. I guess it did not meet the requirements you use to choose your streaming list. But you can't lose by just checking TeaTV out. It is my go to when I am not in the mood for some of Netflix content. I do have shudder. I like the horror content they stream. Anyway, I do hope my recommendation bring entertainment to at least some of you. Enjoy!

I cancelled Netflix but not for any of the reason you mentioned. I cancelled it because I realized that since I had cable, I was not using the service anymore and it got so bad that I had a CD for over 3 years that I never watched. The same CD.

My problem with Netflix goes beyond content to how it freezes up when streaming. I'm finding more and better content on other providers.

I drop Netflix every ~3 months & just subscribe to one streaming service at a time. It's just for me though. There are so many now that I might have to double up - I'm not scheduled to see the second half of Stranger Things until next month. I also get randomly got a US prime free trial so some VPN shenanigans may be a way to get more cheap access.

I love prime mostly because I can have all the smaller subscriptions like paramount+, shudder and things like that all in one place and I typically get billed for them at the same time as my prime subscription, makes it easy to find what I want from other subs in one place.

U know there is a app named Apollo which carries all the movies that different apps have, they have premium, live TV n PPV. Ppl can get it thru Fire TV n they can pay per month or per year. It is a app that brings everything in one app that is worth the cost
