Listen, I get the stay at home wanna be wife. But by gosh, if your husband or mate is struggling financially, get off of your butts and do something to help besides sitting there sucking up air. How do you make 190k a year and have so much debt? Especially credit cards??? I will never understand. We make less than than and never had credit card debts, living within our means and buying what we can afford. In 7 years we saved 50k for the downpayment when my husband was making 40-55k and I was home with our kid. When we bought the house and the kid went to school, I went to work (the house turned out to be more expensive to have, just the utilities; and 3 months after the home purchase our glass stove top cracked, we bought one on craigslist). At first we only had one old car and kept doing switcheroos till we saved to buy another car, then we saved to upgrade the old one. People just keep making bad decisions. I have a coworker who makes as much as me and he keeps complaining to never have money, but his 18 month old wears nike shoes. My kid was wearing great value shoes at that age.

Losing a loved one DOES NOT feel the same as losing a job. Give me a break! I've lost a job, and I've lost 2 siblings it does not feel the same. There is nothing compared to death of a loved one. Nothing. The devastating grief of a loved one is so deep and has layers upon layers being triggered many times in the future, future dreams of a child marrying, having kids... etc. Having their friends get married and have kids , wishing and having dreamt of your child being there has got to be tortorous. The grief and horrendous pain going through a child/ young adult having cancer and not making it is just beyond any job loss. Even though I know we are not without hope, as our hope is in Jesus, humanly the grief is so great.

Now drop it to 50hrs a week he will gross $62k a year. Her income of $25an hour for 15hrs a week comes out t0 $19,500 a year. So at minimum there is $80k gross coming into that house per year.

You need to be careful on the advice u give. Your asking a guy who has worked at a place 12 years, to move on. Is he even educated? People don't want to move on to management or are not management material. The 2nd caller just got fired, your asking the first caller to move on where he has job security it seems. Grass not always greener in other side. Not saying your wrong, buts it's no always as clear as this show sometimes makes it seem

Please DO NOT compare being laid off or fired as loosing a loved one. Bc my 84 y o widowed mother has buried two adult sons within 5 years. It has been 3 years since my last belated brother who was a paraplegic & died from covid. Mom went to the cemetery this past weekend first time in 9 mos and she called me crying, that she is 84 y o and seeing dad’s name on the same headstone with her two eldest boys is at times still hard. Mom said being a widow is nothing compared to the pain as our loosing your child. So again I would rather be fired and laid off then seeing my child in a casket and then their name on a headstone. My prayers for comfort & strength to all have buried a child, a spouse a loved one and a pet . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m sorry for your loss. I can tell this is a sensitive issue for you, so perhaps this will fall on deaf ears, but I don’t think they were suggesting that losing a job is the same as losing a loved one… rather that the chemical processes in the brain, the way the brain processes those events and the toll that takes on the body are so similar as to be called the same. I don’t think anyone would genuinely try to assert that those two events are actually the same, but they might compare in order to highlight the physical, mental and emotional toll of losing a job. Perhaps Ken could have been clearer but I really don’t think he was trying to imply anything insensitive. Of course we all understand it’s not actually the same.
