I have never gotten any debt in my life nor do I plan on attaining any in the future. Ive built my emergency fund for 6 months of living right before i lost my job. Im glad someone is out here teaching this stuff. Im very grateful. Everyone else thinks im crazy for not getting credit cards and car loans. But the very people that think that end up in their debt holes. Im just happy I saw Dave Ramsey when I did.

Love you guys! I'm from the UK and our rules and laws may be different, but the basic tenets are the same. I'm on baby step 2. Listening to Dave helped me understand I had an income problem so I'm doing a degree and already earning a higher wage. I actually found Entreleadership first as a struggling entrepreneur and it led me here. I did enjoy the part about saving for a rainy day. Woyld you believe I never actually knew what that meant until today. Nobody explained that idiom to me, and as a child who loved to play outdoors, I found rainy days very boring so I assumed it meant save for when you're bored and have nothing better to do, which seemed a bit pointless. As an adult I never really thought about that saying until today. 😂

I began investing in stocks and Def earlier this year, and it is the best choice I've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, and maximize it.

I’m 62 and have been a career nanny and a housekeeper for decades. I believe it’s kept my mind clear and my body forever moving. These desk jobs are killing humans. Then 4 1/2 years ago I added something else to make my life enjoyable that felt like something for me. Background acting. I’ve now been on sets with everyone from Susan Sarandon & Bette Midler (I was Susan’s Stand In on their movie The Fabulous Four in Savannah last year) and been directed by the legend Clint Eastwood (Juror #2) and hundreds of sets in between. I also pet sit for all my cleaning clients when they travel. Why am I telling you all of this? Because I did office work for years before my two kids were born. Then when they came along I kept kids in my home so we could keep our heads above water. Once my daughter started kindergarten, I walked up the driveway of Burt Reynolds home that he had @ the time near us in Loganville, Ga., knocked on the door and asked if they needed a housekeeper. The new owners (older lady) hired me on the spot and I started the next day. Making 8.00 an hour. That’s where my cleaning career started. I’ve never been ashamed to tell anyone what I do for a living. I’ve been with 3 nanny agencies and am still with one today. I was a nanny for The Atlanta Braves kids during the 2016 season up @ Suntrust Park. I have NO college. Never been one day. Went straight from HS to working at the Atlanta Police Dept where my mom was the Chiefs Secretary and I’ve been working ever since. It can be done! I never go to the same job two days in a row and it’s made for an incredibly fulfilling life. I live very small and clutter free. I’m single, no grandkids and although I’m not well off by any means, I have FB friends who are married, the big paid for homes, great retirements who say Susan you inspire me to go live. I believe women like you and I need a different mindset. It’s not the end Please don’t allow yourself to stay in that mindset. I’ve got debt like everyone else, that’s why I’m here and just interviewed for a weekend only nanny job here in Atlanta that will suddenly give me close to 2500 extra dollars a month and that’s not including being able to still do my other stuff during the week. At that rate, IF I’m able to land this job, will put me so far above the way I’ve been living but the crazy thing? I’ll work no less. I’ve determined I just enjoy working. I’ll work until forever. Find a domestic care agency in your area. Or the nearest large city. You could do anything from laundry help for families to sitting with the elderly. There are so many families who value women our age to help around their homes. Go for it you can do it!
