Would like to know how this lens compares to the Fujinon XF14 f/2.8 other than being about half as expensive and 2 stops more open. Perspective has to be similar (slightly wider field of view) than the Fujinon lens.

Viltrox have been one of the few companies to release Fujifilm lenses with autofocus in the past years (even before the lens mount was opened, that was technically illegal on a patent level, but Fuji let it slide. Unlike Canon), and their lenses have been pretty much excellent so far. Their coatings are not as good as fuji lenses, so there will be more chromatic abberations, but they will almost everytime be really sharp. I bought for myself their 85mm f/1.8 and 56mm f/1.4 lenses as they're really close to their Fuji equivalent (90mm f/2 and 56mm f/1.2) when it comes to image quality (you almost can't tell any difference of sharpness and contrast between the two), and are substantially cheaper too (buying used, got the 85mm for 300€ and the 56mm for 220€, when both the 90 and the 56 can't be found under 750€ in France), at the cost of some removed features (no weather sealing, no clicks on the aperture ring on the 56mm and no aperture ring at all on the 85) and, as I said a bit more CA due to coatings. but for someone getting started in the Fujifilm ecosystem, the value proposition is definitely there, and it might even be worth it to consider those over Fujicron primes for their low price, amazing inage quality and wider aperture I have been doing a bit of street photography with the 85mm lately (that gives me a 130mm equivalent angle of view) and it's been quite enjoyable ! First time I've heard anyone complain about the aperture ring on this 13mm. I have this lens and the aperture ring 'stiffness' is perfect - better than most on Fuji's own lenses. That 'point' felt very nit-picky - as with many other points made here. This lens is stunning for the money

Thanks for the review and it has been very informative. My less than desirable mobility impedes me travelling too much and I started shooting with Fujifilm a couple years ago. The smaller Fujifilm form factor help. Have a good day.

Hey Jorge, have you experience the very sharp flare issue of this lens? I had to return my newly purchased 13mm 1.4 viltrox and the replacement has the same issue. Any thoughts?

same the coating are crap, and nothing close to Fuji Coatings, i returned my lens and will not be buying anymore third party lenses. i have purchase over 20 X mount lens. I am not impressed with this Viltrox lens even tho every reviewer praises it
