In the poem “anthem for doomed youth” Wilfred uses a lot of different language devices / techniques to really describe and create an image in our head to show how terrible the war affected the youth that thought it was all a nice big adventure. This is evidenced when he states “what passing bells for these who die as cattle ?” Wilfreds decided to use a rhetorical question to really empathise how the soldiers got dehumanised . The effect of the rhetorical question is that it appeals to the reader to question what ceremony or funeral rites is given to soldiers who die/are slaughtered in huge numbers as if they were cattle. The simile dehumanises the men by comparing them to livestock sent to an abattoir. Thus Wilfred Owen shows the use of his language techniques to really show the youth that once you step onto the battlefield there’s no going back . Is this a good peel paragraph ?

Hi, I have a 34-mark assessment on Friday on Lord of the Flies. The question is "How far does Golding present Jack as a character who changes in Lord of the Flies?". So the focus is on Jack changing throughout the novel. Pls could you do a video on this and tell me what a grade 9 answer to this question would look like, or just maybe tell me at least 4-5 points I could talk about when writing the assessment, as I really don't know what to write. I do not know why most of GCSE English youtuber wants us write a story ?writing a story is very tricky. We need to have in mind a very good ending before we ever start.
