I have a 1912 dime that I found in our gravel driveway several years ago. Our house was built on the site of a much older house, and the driveway goes back to the 1800s, most likely. The dime was badly scratched, but when I looked at it under a magnifier, I could see that all the details were there, under all the scratches. Pretty amazing.

Any tips on how to get somewhat cheap & trustworthy appraisals outside of sending coins off for grading to the NGC because isn't that how it works you have to pay and then send them to the NGC through the mail, and they send them back? Any tips on how to possibly do that through fairly reputable local shops? I have a pretty extensive collection with so many that I just don't know how valuable they are I potentially have some gems.
