This is it! The one I would happily make for the rest of my quilting days. Also, it's pretty fun! Have you ever tried a mini trip around the world?
@caricooper413527 күн бұрын
you just identified why i dont sew more--you said something like, "it takes me a week of admiring and smelling/stroking the fabric to get the courage to cut it." yessssssss! THAT! 🎯 also, THANK YOU for making your vids condensed and short. nothing turns me off more than a 45+ min video. just sayin.

I've made 3, TATW quilts I love this pattern. First one 2 1/2" second one 3 1/2" third 4 1/2" strips. Planning another 2 1/2" one this time I will make trip around the block in summery colours.

For quilters pressing is very important for a good finished quilt. More emphasis on pressing the seams and which way they are pressed should be given for good results without twisted seams.

It’s beautiful but I would start with 2.5” strips because I don’t have the patience for 1.5” strips! 😂 Love from Ohio 💞💞💞💞

Could a person use jelly roll strips or cut 2 and a half inch strips?
@seweasybysandyАй бұрын
Yes, a jelly roll would make the whole thing even quicker.
@janetmiles6402Ай бұрын
If I use 2 1/2" strips, how long should I cut them? I would like to know the ratio between strip width and length. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
@giovannacasadio9600Ай бұрын
I think 15 inches would be the correct way, she cut them 9 inches for 1.5 inches so that is 1.5 x6 = 9 so 2.5 x 6 = 15. I hope that will help you.
@seweasybysandyАй бұрын
Hi. So if you use 5 2.5 inch strips and sew them together you need to remove the seam allowance, which mine is 1/4inch per strip, so 2 inches off. So you would get a 10.5 inch square. If it were 6 strips, it would be 2.5inch seam allowance, so 12.5 inch square and so on.

How do you go about actually quilting this? Do you use your machine? Do you quilt by hand? Or do you use a long-arm quilter? I'm just getting to know my free motion quilting feature of my machine, and it's a pretty tricky skill to learn!
@seweasybysandyАй бұрын
If I were to quilt it I would either use super simple straight lines or free motion quilting. Or maybe do quilt as you go so you wouldn't have any visible lines.

This quilt block is also the steps in making a Bargello quilt.

Yes, the difference is the bargello strips change in width whereas the trip around the world strips are all in the same size.

I did end up going for my stash because I was really enjoying the oranges and yellows but I would say 90% of the strips were scraps
