It fixed my problem too! I had been struggling with this some time, gave up for a while, got back to trying to fix it, was thinking about having it repaired and now.. like magic found this video :) lifesaver! my lower thread didn't come loose, but I could tell it wasn't right. the little pin tightens the tension on the bobbin case, it solved the problem. Learned something new! I can't tell you how much this means to me, those loops gave me a headache! i didn't want to use my machine anymore. I love sewing, but it was a mess every time. so frustrating. but now the stitches look good!! yeeeaaahh!!!! thank you so much

Hello sweetheart, I am livin in the Netherlands. I follow you now for a few months and I can tell you this. Iam 69 years old and quilt for 50 years already. Learn a lot from my grandmother, so i would say I am pretty wel known with the tradionel way of quilting. Most old quilters are not quilt outside the box and those quilters wil always say ÿou are doin this wrong" Keep on doin it girl. The old quilters can learn a lot from you exaly, because there are more ways to quilt. Do whats in your heart and try anything out what you want to make. You are wonderful in what you do.. You are a tresure to watch,I will go on to see your videos whit love Astrid Filon

I assume you are aware of Missouri Star Quilt Company and Jenny Doan. the MSQC has been all about making quilting easier for a lot of years now. Their focus in on the use of pre-cuts in quilts. Then there is the Fabric Cafe and their focus on simple, easy 3 yard quilts. I mention these people because your focus seems also to be on easy yet beautiful quilts. I’m thinking you may want to be clear to yourself and your viewers about what part of this niche you are trying to occupy. Also, getting inspiration from others is a strong foundation for finding one’s own voice. Mind you, your own cheerful enthusiasm is definitely uniquely yours, there is no question.

It turned out really cute! Thanks for sharing! Also, just a tip for trimming HST: When you trim the first two sides, make sure you leave a little extra. So if you are trimming to 4”, make sure you have a little more than 4” so that when you flip it to trim the other sides, you will have enough to trim there as well. This really helped me when I first started so I just wanted to share in case it helped anyone else. Happy sewing everyone!

The essence of quilting is to take perfectly good fabric, cut it into small pieces and sew it back together. 😂 That’s how I explain it to non quilting people.♥️👍

Use beeswax on your thread to prevent knotting. It really works!! Also search KZbin for how to make a quilter’s knot. You wrap the end of the thread around the needle 4-5 times then pinch it and pull down the length of thread and Voila! A knot that’s so much easier and less fiddly and it impresses your friends!!

Where is this little pin located?
@seweasybysandy8 күн бұрын
Hi! It's on the front side of the bobin holder. I show it in the video, when you release the bobin holder there are two tiny pins in front of it, one is right in front of the bit that holds the thread to it, that's the one you'll want to tighten.
